I honestly don't see him opening up his recruitment. He has said many times that loyalty is important to him and if he wasn't 100% committed then don't see him committing like he did. I understand many kids say these things but I believe that Tillman actually believes it

So we've got Jeremiah, Roy and MOB reassuring us. I'm good to go. Actually I'm always good to go. Who ever shows up at the beginning of a season is who I root for. But having followed Illini basketball since before the Slush Fund days, I will say it was a lot easier following recruiting before the internet. I'm sure all this in and out, back and forth, school wars and rumor of wars went on all the time back in the day, we just never heard about it.

I have to say, very strange to be worried about SLU stealing our recruits. What has happened over the last few years??

I feel pretty confident in saying slu isn't stealing JT. Now, I don't know anything, and I'm not saying he won't reopen, but if he did it wouldn't be to go to slu. Slu offers him nothing except for a payday, which he will get in the NBA anyway. I can understand Goodwin taking that kind of offer, he's unlikely to make the NBA, but JT will make millions. He's not going to risk a penny of those potential earnings to go play in the A10 and get minimal exposure. He wants to be a lottery pick. He could have gone to a blue blood... if he opens his recruitment its going to be to go to a better school than UI, he's not going to slu.

Tilmon

i can't believe people are questioning a kid returning home to a program that went 12-14, graduated 10 seniors and leading scorer averaged 6 points per game. That will be quite the challnge to make a run at state but he will undoubtedly be the man and play for his HOME>

These articles and quotes don't mean anything. Tilmon isn't going to say he's unsure about his commitment. At least, not publicly.

Tilmon's his own man. Plus his mom would set him straight if he did happen to waver.

You people that are getting all worked up are crazy. If anything Tilmon will be closer to put pressure on Goodwin to rethink his crazy decision. It won't be the other way around. Like has already been mentioned Tilmon was never going to SLU and Goodwin was never going to UNC, KU, etc that wanted Tilmon. The only way they play together is UofI.

If you think Tilmon made his decision before Goodwin yet only really wanted to come if his buddy did then you are off your rocker. There was no reason Tilmon couldn't wait until after Goodwin committed if that was that big of a factor in the whole thing. Bottom line is he picked the school HE wanted to go to and has been quite solid in that commitment.

Finally the move back to ESL makes some sense in that the rankings are what they are for the 17 class at this point. Exposure means very little from here on out for prospects. He doesn't really need to be at LaLu to keep himself in the Top 30 range. He effectively traded a chance at the mythical national championship of HS bball and very good academics to be closer to his family for his final year before embarking on a career that can take him anywhere. Can't blame him for wanting that one last year of being with the family.
