Is that truly the reason Tilmon went there? ESL had a pretty rough teacher strike that delayed the start of school last year. I was under the impression, maybe errantly, that the teacher strike was one of the leading drivers for his transfer to LaLu.

Academics were the biggest part. A lack of teachers at your high school certainly falls into the "academics" bucket I'd say.

And now academics is being given as the reason for his transfer back, to have his mom more involved with keeping up with his studies.

There's no secret here. Tilmon may not qualify. But there's a difference between may not and isn't going to. If he couldn't do what he had to in a year, we wouldn't have accepted the commitment. It's just going to be about getting it done in the classroom and on the ACT.

I assume it's similar to LaLu. I know they gave out some scholarships to guys. Shut they aren't technically allowed to recruit players there. The players have to come to them first.

The difference is that LaLu isn't part of the Indiana high school sports federation, so they can recruit as much as they like.

The basketball team is a promotional arm for the school. Free tuition for 12 academically under-prepared kids is a small price to pay for national attention being paid to your little private school. Plus it's fun having this winning sports team with soon-to-be celebrity athletes.

That makes sense. Much like Decatur Christian a few years back. Ensworth is supposed to be more of a football school. They had a few top 300 players when I was there. But I know they got a top pf or center that we have offered there now. That James Wiseman I think it is. 2018 or 2019 I think.

A Frazier commitment would do wonders to quiet the unseemly weeping and gnashing of teeth over JT and JG(oodwin).

So, a Frazier commitment is roughly as important as a Goodwin commitment would have been right? Just going off their rankings & needed playing positions.

Maybe Frazier wants to wait and see what Scruggs does. He might not want to sit behind a 5 star PG.

Just stop it - the odds of getting both are about as minuscule as the odds were of getting both Brunson and Evans. If we get just one of them we should be delighted.

I think more important. Would have been great to have Goodwin playing for us, but because his position is not an area of need might be part of the reason he didn't commit to Illinois.

My thoughts exactly. If he wants to come, we better enthusiastically accept his commitment on the spot.

Second that. The notion that Groce is going to finesse Frazier for 11 days or 2 weeks is a pipedream. If Frazier is ready to pop, the only option is to welcome him aboard.
