I feel the exact same way. A big is a need, the wing spots are full. Use that 18' scholarship to swing for the fences.

Yup. If we're lucky enough to get Frazier and a another quality PF/C, you only take a 6th guy if he is an instant impact type (Wilkes obviously fits this, and yes I know he's a longshot).

I'd take Epperson as the 6th in a heartbeat. Not instant impact, but sky high ceiling. 6' 11", can play 4 and 5. Tilmon's not going to be in CU forever. The question is, how appealing are we given our roster? Will he come knowing that he's looking at spot minutes his first 2 years? Doubt it. Can't hurt to try though.

If RyanK is saying no Scruggs, my mentality is 100% no Scruggs... Trent Frazier come on up and take your spot!

Holding out for Scruggs is foolish. Take Frazier and be quite happy. Then focus on landing a big.

Everytime I hear "no Scruggs" I'm taken back to the 1990s and TLC... Can't help it.

Paul White transferring form G-town. Would be a great pickup after missing out on Goodwin to fill the 3 spot. Any chance he is interested in coming back to the home state? Was he interested in Illinois much out of high school

Interesting. IIRC, White had interest in coming to Illinois at one point but not sure if we made it into his top choices or anything. There was a lot of mutual interest for awhile 2011-2012.

Just saw this, I dont think they recruited him that hard. But if I had to guess being closer to home has something to do with it. DePaul was in his final 5 if I am not mistaken.

There is a blast from the past. He was recruited but we were going to get so many five stars that year that we did not pay much attention. I kid.

He would be a nice pickup but true 4's are a higher priority.

He visited UCONN, DePaul, Minnesota, GTown and Miami. Arizona was also in the final schools.

I was never a big fan. Talented but not a high motor.

Paul White would of been a good pick-up 3 years ago to go along with Black and Finke IMHO. We were after Alexander and Snider back then and he was not a priority. I liked his defensive effort especially against some of the Simeon teams and had good physical traits.

I echo what Combes said regarding his motor and aggressiveness. Reminds me of Brian Randle in that way. If White was in our system for the last two years I believe he would be further ahead, at this point I give the WF and stretch 4 positions to DJ, Kipper, Finke. I don't see White being better than these 3. Prefer a true big who will be in our system longer.

How can you like his defensive effort and not his motor or aggressevness?

He often showed great effort on defense but seemed to coast sometimes on offense. Oozed potential. Often looked like the best player on the floor and like he wasn't trying. I figured he'd be one to really get it going in college.

How many years of eligibility does he have left?

3--he had a major hip injury last year and had surgery. Was limited to 7 games and 67 total minutes. He will receive a medical hardship for his Soph. year.

However he could fall victim to the 4 in 5 rule.

Maybe ILLOB and Landon IS Travis Ford!!! Busted :D

Would not surprise me at all.

Jed hoyer of the Cubs came right out and fessed up to fake Twitter accounts. You can bet recruiters and street agents are trying to create spin and buzz that will benefit them.

In addition to UI on 9/16, Abu Kigab will visit Cal on 10/7 and Oregon on 9/10.

Presumably if he makes out of Eugene without committing we have a decent chance. Finishing the class with Frazier, Kigab, and Kiir/Uyaelunmo/Epperson would be very respectable.

It would be more than "respectable." "Superb", "home run" more like it.
