Because we have such an early test there's no tune up games to kinda build our confidence or see what our team is made of....I guess the plus is that we'll be healthy.....and this is the healthiest we've been GOIN into the season that I've seen

I wonder why. It seems we were always hurt under Beckman. The way they practiced? Weight training and stretching different?

Could be that Beckman just ignored the early warning signs of injury, which magnified them later, or that he pushed and just disregarded the possibility, thinking they would "play through" anything.

Robert has mentioned that Lovie doesn't do two-a-days and hasn't used all of his practices, could be that these kids aren't getting worn out and injuring themselves because of that.

Yep. Apparently Beckman didn't understand the importance of recovery time. Thankfully Lovie does (as he should having worked around NFL players worth millions).

Well I officially have locked in on the Over on 4.5 wins.

Here was my season outlook looking through Orange tinted sunglasses:

Murray State - Win
North Carolina - Loss
Western Michigan - Win
@ Nebraska - Loss
Purdue - Win
@ Rutgers - Win
@ Michigan - Loss
Minnesota - Win
Michigan State - Loss
@Wisconsin - Loss
Iowa - Loss
@ Northwestern - Win

6-6. Two games that I would say most likely to be switched around - I could see us losing to Minnesota... but I could also see us beating Nebraska.

I'm with you on almost every prediction, but switch Nebraska with Iowa. I can see us beating Iowa at home, but I cannot see us winning at Nebby on the road. With that said, 6-6 would get me excited.

You can ask DIA but all the "cool" looking stuff I have asked about since the rebrand has been team-exclusive and not available to the general public. Let us know if they tell you differently! :(

Yeah kills me seeing some of the gear and not being able to buy it. Coach Groce was wearing a sharp looking Shield polo yesterday but can't find it online anywhere.

Makes sense. Why would they want to sell something that people want to buy? Ha. Oh well, at least my checkbook's happy.

If we go up by a bunch of scores do you take Lunt out of the game???? Or do you let him stay in pad stats and get more practice for n.c???

You get Lunt out because with Crouch or George as QB you're looking at a 2 or 3 win season

And if Lunt goes down, the season goes down. There is an enormous gap between Lunt and the 2nd string QB.

If I were in the AD department , I would play that introductory JW presser quote on the big screen every game before the team run out of the locker room. I STILL get goose bumps listening to that! :illinois:
