Any name for the 2005 team should focus on players not the coach. Whiz Kids and Flying Illini were dubbed by the media and embraced by the fans. Nothing ever stuck for the 2005 team because they were so balanced and not flashy like the other two examples.

Agree with both. Despite not having a nickname think they could've done something like "March to the Arch" or something.

Yeah something including the year and "march to the arch" would have been fitting, and much less blah

Clockwork Orange would've worked too because the team was so selfless and efficient. Too late now.

That's not what Clockwork Orange meant, he said, shifting from song lyrics to literary criticism.

Disregard the literary or cinematic reference. It's like associating Singing in the Rain with Alex. Or not.

That would've been pretty good. And the pretty passing offense was a fit with the legendary mid-70's Dutch national soccer team with the same nickname.

Led by the late, great Johan Cruyff. Forgot that was the nickname for the Dutch team. Totally apt sobriquet. Thanks for the reminder.

Raise your hand if you had to Google "sobriquet"

Heck, my phone autocorrect didn't even recognize it as a word. Well done.

Uh, is the building itself large enough to hold this monstrosity? Like, how did they get it through the front door?

I was really hoping with the renovation they would get rid of those ugly 50 year old looking vents at the top of the stadium. Oh well I guess. Can't have it all unless they still will?

To me it looks small.
I suppose I'm the only one.

I've seen bigger screens in home systems :)

That's pretty much the industry standard for recently renovated arenas.

Basketball gyms are smaller and more tightly organized so there is less to be gained from a godzillatron monstrosity like at a football stadium.

I think several arenas have been putting in scoreboards like the one at Quicken Loans Arena recently.

Not sure if one of these would look right considering the round shape of SFC.
