I wonder if it the same instate bias that was reporting that Goodwin was a lock to Illinois. All the chatter had him as a silent verbal. Somebody even posted that Groce was pushing him to take his time that he was in a rush to commit.

I still like our chances from what im hearing from indiana

^^^ Could be. But, I suppose it isn't a bias if that is where he ends up. Hard to say as of right now because we don't know what will happen. Though, it seems likely we have a good idea.

I think he would have already committed to Indiana if your coach was anyone but Crean. He will likely still go there but Crean is the sticking point. IMO. I am pretty sure he likes Groce better but the home school pull may prevail despite Crean.

The way Crean handled the JCL recruitment is not a plus for IU here.

How does Kiir's visit jive with media day? How much of the players and staff's time will be consumed with this going on? We hopefully can get an ackward, but yet beautiful interview from McColley out of the deal.
An ackward interview would be very awkward...

Illinois, the Rodney Dangerfield of college basketball. :)
From Inside The Hall . . .

"Regardless of where he goes, the fact that Illinois is in his final three is simply inexplicable. I could get Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Louisville, or any of a dozen other schools, but Ilinois just mystifies me. Heck, even Xavier would make more sense, and he cut them. . ."

They are already charging Groce with negative recruiting and that he and Walker's visit this week was a desperate move.:D

Good thing Lou Boudreau still isn't around.

According to Adam Zagoria, IU was in to see 2018 5* 6'9" Forward Simi Shittu yesterday.

He cancelled his remaining visits and is down to the three finalists he has already visited, your response seems obvious at this point.

Just feels like a kid that wants to rep the Hoosiers despite how well UI came off on his visit and opened his eyes.

Bright side is that Groce can obviously get in the door on some big time talent. Once on court results pick up, and the bad luck ends, the recruiting will take off.

Groce has always been able to "get in the door". That's never been a problem for him. Tilmon was his first real breakthrough, though, so maybe now the tide is turning.

His response that a source told him something was obvious? Or are you just being a Steve Alford because he's not an Illini fan?

Interesting he cancelled his visits obviously he scheduled his contenders and then his safety schools. At least 1 of his contenders proved a viable choice so no need to go to his safety school.

The Illinois visit to Wilkes means something. The timing tells me it's something really good for IU or really good for Illinois. Probably IU judging by history.

Do not get all the UCLA love his parents have been very vocal about wanting to go to his games. Something Indiana and Illinois offer but not UCLA.

Fwiw one of the IU insiders that is reporting its IU is a guy that IU fans think so little of if he said the sky was blue on a clear we would look up expecting it to be anything but blue.

Hopefully we get an announcement soon so both fan bases can stop stressing.

I would be very surprised if KW doesn't end up in Bloomington.

Shouldn't matter though, this class is already a major win and the staff is still working!

1st CB tonight to IU from Chad Lykins a 247/ Duke Blue Devil guy.:hurl:

Would he commit at hoosier hysteria or before then if he commits to iu?

Rumor is they are trying to get a highly ranked big man. Richards, Preston or Bamba to HH. The source couldn't say for sure who the target was. So I could see them asking him to hold off the announcement if they pull that off.

No chance
