Very true. This is reminding me alot of the robert Johnson recruitment though.

We have Alex Bozich and Marni indicating IU. While all the press goes to another big name program.

Hope you are not disappointed. You might want to go find Indy Orange and help him get his car started.:)

Timing is important. At the time, may have been good picks, IU led. But right now, it is more that Bozich is still holding to an old pick, and you assistant AD may have followed Waters some time back when indications were that IU was steadily in the lead.

But it certainly does not look like you are getting Waters.

People said the same thing about Robert Johnson. And Bozich has no problem changing his picks. Heck he changed his pick on Brown the day before the announcement I think.

Robert Johnson surprised people by picking IU over UNC, but that was more the case that analysts had picked UNC already. Not a last minute tsunami towards UNC, only to pick IU. Very different.

Changing picks late is pretty typical, I'd be willing to bet Bozich changes before announcement...this has all the makings of news if who he has picked is starting to leak & IU chances are somewhere between slim & none at this point.

Yeah, I am with you on that one. He is an editor of an IU site, so there is some incentive to keep his pick a little longer, but I'd be willing to bet that he switches as well.

Though, I do think the wind is blowing pretty hard towards VCU for his recruitment.

Just curious where is this coming from? I haven't heard anything here that makes me think he is leaning toward anyone, us included.

Maybe, Wooten? Sounds like he will decide well after Kiir, so not convinced that is a sign of anything. Could be just next man up or could be in addition to Kiir, personally I think we have room for 2 more bigs.

His official is to VCU this weekend, so hard to think that has swayed him, at least to date.

I don't think there has been any CB activity, & if he was leaning VCU I would have expected a few CBs to cover themselves for a commit on the visit this weekend.

I think somebody has already said this but Wilkes's recruitment has the exact same feel as the many in state Illinois kids that we thought we had a chance with but went out of state. Just seems to me that if he was going to Indiana he would have committed months ago.

Or even within the past two or three weeks. With that said I still unfortunately feel he's going to be a Hoosier. But there's hope.

Well apparently IU's assistant AD just followed Wilkes on twitter and apparently she only follows commits or those about to commit. It's a bummer as this is likely a sign of Wilkes' choice

This plus the UCLA meeting sure seem like he is about to commit to IU, but UCLA is getting one last chance. UI is nowhere in the discussion. Oh well, knew it was a long shot, but still a shot none the less...

I agree with this sentiment, but every recruitment is different. Now that he's not under any pressure from HH timing, It wouldn't surprise me if this one went on for a couple more weeks....which will seem like an eternity if you follow it....

But JCL and JT....

For what it is worth the assistant AD following on twitter is probably only slightly above the hot dog vendor in terms of reliability. I'm not suggesting we will win here, but this looks to be a pretty tight recruitment where no one seems to have any real insight, more people floating rumors they want to believe. I still think he hasn't decided or at least hasn't decided with enough confidence that he has told anyone yet. In the lack of real information, UCLA and IU will always be favorites in this one, nothing new to change that script.

Mostly Twitter, which I concede is not very substantial at all.

Kiir's recruitment has been asking fans to "show the love" and it has to be said that VCU's fans are doing a much better job. They're obviously more excited about getting him on board than we are.

This has nothing to do with the coaching staffs, of course. Groce clearly would like a second big, and assigned JT to tell Kiir as much.

Justin Albers of ITH just tweeted that Wilkes' Dad and brother plan on attending HH but not Kris. How strange is that!!:D

Historically your assertion about Marni is completely wrong. Name a recruit that's gone to IU and she followed them if they got off campus without the committ.
