Would this team look better with Happ, Snider and Nunn??
I think Finke's issues are hair related.
I realize that there were some issues tonight with our defense and overall play but I wonder if anyone else feels like I do, that some of these smaller school teams look really good at times. For a while there these guys were making shots like crazy. A couple of weeks ago I watched Fort Wayne beat Indiana who were ranked number 3 in the country at the time. It didn't look like a fluke. Fort Wayne looked really good that night, throughout the entire game! If you didn't see the name on the jerseys I would have to say that IUPUI looked better tonight than VCU did on Saturday. I get concerned about our ability to consistently play at a top notch level, but I do believe that these small schools, on certain nights are better than expected. Just an observation.
Couldn't agree with this more. If I'm Leron, I'm cutting it in his sleep.
At the same age I think Leron handles it better. His stats so far are a little better than Draymond's JR year. I think Leron is quite a bit more athletic of the two as well. If he was 2" taller he could get into a lottery discussion at some point with his play.

Can we make the white throwbacks our regular home unis?
He is projected as a top ten tweener.
Black will never play in the NBA. He is coming on strong as a player at Illinois but he does not have the skill or the size to play in the NBA. Thinking of that unnecessary dribble he took off his foot after a great offensive rebound late in the game. Not a high basketball IQ guy.
Yeah, air drag and extra weight are probably slowing him down a lot.

He's just early in his second year and has plenty of time to progress. He does one thing at an elite level and that's rebounding. That alone might be enough to make a team. It might not but it's waaay to early to say he will never play in the NBA. Continued improvements on offense will only strengthen his chances.
I agree with many that our defense has been porous this year. However, tonight I think they hit more flukey shots than normal for a team in a game. I think I screamed wrf was that about 5 times at my tv tonight.

Leron is playing great right now. His jumper is money and his hustle phenomenal! BUT, he definitely does not have better handles than Draymond Green has/or ever had. I have seen nothing to show me that Leron Black can handle the ball well. Additionally, Draymond was someone that Michigan State ran offense through. His passing has always been plus, especially for a 3/4 man.
Side note: I cannot stand Draymond Green.
just because he doesn't frequently doesn't mean he can't. he has also been pretty instrumental in breaking presses. more than once I have watched him take a pass in the backcourt and bring it up
I could get behind this.Couldn't agree with this more. If I'm Leron, I'm cutting it in his sleep.
His progress says otherwise. Saying that 1 play is indicative of his ball handling and IQ is ridiculous IMO
1. Rebounding is one of the most proven skills in college to translate to the NBA.
2. He's only a soph, and his progress is noticeable. He'll get stronger.
3. He's shown flashes of a shot. If he can score with a mid-range game, that makes him more dangerous inside.
4. His hustle/motor are exceptional
5. He plays up well - had solid games in our losses
At the start of the season, I'd have agreed with the board that Hill was our best player. Now, I'm not so sure I wouldn't take Leron, after seeing how he's be able to play against better competition. Hill's been very productive overall, but he was much quieter in our biggest games.
Thy dribble off his foot was an attempt to make a move and go back up with a shot. Had it not gone off his foot he probbaly would've gotten fouled and had two free throws. That's an often seen circumstance on an offensive rebound right there. He just happens to bounce of his shoe, which is not uncommon on said play. It's not a low iq play.
