I realize it's a highlight video, but Smith looks like a top-50 player. Wow.

The crazy thing is that's a reel of six games! I mean I have seen 1 or 2 season long high light reels of top 100 players that are nowhere as good.

If he's a legit 6'4" this kid could be a load at the 1-3

Which is getting to be ludicrous. This kid needs to be moved on now and QUICKLY. This kid is going to be an absolute stud for 4 years for some lucky program.

I'm getting nervous, too. Walker went and saw him recently, but Groce needs to meet and offer this kid soon. I'll say this again: He dropped 37 on Jordan Goodwin who has been lauded for his defense, amongst other things. This kid already has a college body and is only going to get better once he focuses on one sport and continues to gain experience. It's especially important with the uncertainty of Damonte and his recovery. If he really is 6'4-5" and 220, that's a monster at PG and good size for the 2.

This would be the typical recruitment that Illinois screws up. Agree with the others.... offer him now.

Staff was into see Bruninga this week. He put up some ridiculous number like 46 pts with 9 dunks. He sat out the entire 4th qtr.

Oh my goodness. I was watching this highlight video with my mouth hanging wide open and salivating out the side. Dude is an unreal talent and already has a college body. Very athletic, plays under control, and shows he has an outside shooting touch. Does a Marcus Smart comparison fit with Smith?

But for real. Offer this kid now! Can't wait around for the blue bloods to come sweep him away.

Just saw on twitter he even retweeted a question asking whether or not the Illini should offer him. Not sure how to embed.

He is a legit 6'4" and strong as an ox. His basketball IQ is also through the roof.

I talked to his dad last night and they aren't too confident about an offer but I definitely think one is coming soon. Very soon.

His jumper that was supposed to be a question mark looked pretty good to me

Oh dear...

I don't understand why an offer hasn't been made to him at this point.
I can't imagine that anyone is waiting around on Verge.

That must be Demetri after Christmas that one year when a relative told him he should drive to the hoop more so he did and it left Weber wondering why Demetri had never done it when he'd suggested it.

McCamey was more than a very productive player for the beloved, but Smith's highlight video inverts the drives to threes ratio that i recall from McCamey's career. I think the recent rule changes really favor penetrating guards, and a combo of Smith and Frazier would have us at the free throw line all day.

Not to beat a dead horse but yes, offer him ASAP. He looks the part and justbhas that feel of a major regret if he slips through the cracks

Maybe I'm just a sucker for an emerging story, but DAMN ! you guys are getting me excited about Mark Smith.

Would he be ours if we offered? Does he want to come here really bad or is he just trying to get his basketball publicity up since he hasn't been on the scene?

I would definitely understand the latter. He's late to the party and has to do what's best for him.
