Key word in my previous post: today. Nobody is saying that "today".

When your starting five score their first field goal 12+ minutes into the game, why even mention a pass by Tate that cost us a field goal attempt?

honestly all the refs from this game should be let go. this is the big 10, not middle school ball. They have completely taken over the flow of the game.

makes you wonder what could have happened if hill didnt pick up those early fouls and lucas was leading from the beginning LIKE HE SHOULD ALWAYS BE

#307
keep doing that - we need points with the clock stopped

What's Groce barking about? How poorly coached this team is?

Take your pick, Malcolm gets discarded off the court and what's his face was in the lane for about 6-7 seconds. Seriously, they were both T-worthy.

What's it take for Malcolm to kick it in this gear? Wish we'd see more of this.

Not disagreeing at all, but Bill $elf was a horrible game coach while he was here. The round of 8 game vs Arizona and the loss to the Sugar Mocs come to mind. But, I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
It wasn't that Bill Self was a horrible coach, it was another Bill, Walton that was a commentator for our game. His son played for Arizona, Bill Walton called Illini a bunch of thugs in the game prior to the Elite 8 against Arizona. He kept with the same tone during the game. If I remember, we set an NCAA record for fouls committed, it was an inexcusable abuse of the NCAA predetermining the over aggressive officiating. I still am bitter about that lost (Hell like most of Illinois' losses). To this day I have no use for Bill Walton.

Lots of people don't like his hero ball

Ha. I knew this was coming.

Exploiting mismatches in ISO isn't hero ball, it's good offense. Happened last time down the court where Malcolm had a small guy on him. Rejected the ball screen, took him to the post. Drew a foul.

Dude the team I coach runs iso one 80% of our possessions. I get it.

That was one of the worst announced and officiated game I've ever seen. I change the channel.when Walton calls a game. Can't stand him

Good thing I don't play college ball....If I sneezed I'd get a foul called on me

Sorry, I wasn't calling you out specifically. Just the fact that the term "hero ball" gets thrown around a lot on this board without much of an understanding of good ISO situations.

Problem with all the fouls is were out of position a lot and play D with hands instead of the feet

Start Tejon next game, that's coaching. Send a message to the seniors PGs. He gives this team a spark.

So uhh... when we are on the road, maybe we should open up with ten set plays in a row to get past these horrid starts. Hmm? Maybe?
