On this weeks No Shot Clock, Joe Henricksen says he's received calls from Duke and Ohio State among others about Mark Smith. His blow up is reaching nuclear proportions. (Around the 35th or 36th minute.)

People here still think he's ours.
And he would've been....up until about 6 weeks ago.
I'd like to think and hope the reason he hasn't announced anything yet is that deep down he still wants to come to Illinois and is going to give the new coach a chance to recruit him (and rerecruit the current commits) this spring, then make his decision. I really hope he's still ours to lose and that we haven't lost him already. That's probably the best case scenario right now.
What new Coach are you referencing ?
Obviously the yet to be named new basketball coach. Obviously. I know you didn't really need that splained to you.

I find myself wondering how much of this is immediately translatable to the college game. Like, he's obviously skilled, but some of this has to be due to him being a man among boys on the court. What will happen when he's among athletes of a similar caliber? Do experts on the subject expect him to be an impact freshman?
I'm trying to make sure I don't overhype myself on our recruits, which is difficult. This class looks so strong!
