Wow. Lots of bigs visiting here over the next 5 weeks or so. You have to figure at least one of them is going to pop soon. I'd honestly be happy with any of them that we are after so just hoping that one of them pulls the trigger. A class of Ayo, any one of the 3/4s we are after, and any one of the bigs is a GREAT class.

I know we haven't landed anyone for 2018 yet, but something about this coaching staff just feels different. It doesn't feel like we're scrambling to fill out each class. It feels like we're actually being selective in going after players, despite our recent lack of success as a program.

Who knows? It's probably just my imagination. :noidea:

It's true. They are confident and they have a clear direction. BU and the rest know what they want exactly to fit their system and they are recruiting to that. It's quite refreshing.

Put me in these camps on Castleton...I don't think he is gone just yet.

Castleton might be waiting for Florida, who is waiting for, blah, blah. See what happens with his visit, he may get word, we not waiting for anyone. Looking like better chance of a big man commit b4 October than it did 2weeks ago.:)
Seems more like we get to do the choosing.:illinois:

You can reason out that we are only 1 of a couple B1G schools to not have a 2018 commit as being selective, or on the other hand, our offer list is as high as it has ever been, which is not exactly a sign of being selective.

Patience is in order, but I think taking it as a sign of success is a bit premature, IMO.

I wouldn't say that not having a commit yet, or our total number of offers, is evidence of the kind of selectivity I'm talking about. BananaShampoo said it better than I did: our staff seems to have a plan that goes beyond just trying to land the highest-ranked recruits willing to say "yes" to us.

That feels great. It's a potential sign of competency that our program has been sorely lacking for some time now.

I hope we can lock him up. I want him.:shield:

I want Sow, and Penn-Johnson more than Conditt, Castleton, and everyone else.
I just want someone to go ahead and commit.. c'mon down. All of these visits are exciting to say the least. Now just need to close the deal on one.

I gotta say, I like the bigs BU is going after right now. All of them have great upside and if he can develop these guys, we're going to have a monster front court.

It's kind of amazing to me to think the next guy will be his 5th commit since he got here.

I like the guys on our radar. I'm really looking forward to having a winning product on the court to show off, but that can't happen until we start playing again.

Amazing reach and untapped potential. This is the guy I want most of all these bigs. Hope he's Kathy's 1st commit of the season.

+1 At the moment we are not in the position to select any of our top targets. We are in a fight for every player we want. The feeling, though, is different from past years. Multiple scenarios exist to put together the best class we've seen in years, and that creates optimism and excitement. It's like the last 30 seconds of a game, the score is tied and we've got the ball, but it's still anybody's game.

Is De Sousa still a better get than Sow or BPJ ? Or for that matter, better than Conditt or Castleton ?

Personally I just do not believe they are recruiting, Sow, and Penn-Johnson to play the same place on the floor as Conditt. Conditt reminds me way more of Anthony Welch or Brian Cook then any players we have had playing the post. I still believe BU is going to recruit Bigger, Faster, and more Skilled guys to play the 2 3 4 spots, then you saw him have at SFA or OSU.
