You're right, 7'8 wingspans are a dime a dozen

I would tend to bet you in everyone who post on this board would measure their wing span it will be 4-8 inches more then their height, so yeah its not a dime a dozen , but neither are guys 7' to 7-4

His standing reach is reportedly 10 feet...

Personally I just do not believe they are recruiting, Sow, and Penn-Johnson to play the same place on the floor as Conditt. Conditt reminds me way more of Anthony Welch or Brian Cook then any players we have had playing the post. I still believe BU is going to recruit Bigger, Faster, and more Skilled guys to play the 2 3 4 spots, then you saw him have at SFA or OSU.
I believe Anthony Welch played with Ken Norman and Efrem Winters. That was a nice front court. Need big versatile guys that can run the court. Great to see we have some candidates with upcoming OVs.

As well as Big George and Scott Meents, Welch was around 6-11 and I never remember him being the post guy. Same as I do not think Conditt would be the post guy here. I alsoI do not See EJ and Okoro being recruited to play the same spot. Maybe I am wrong, but just seems like a lot of Bigs if you only going to have one of them out there at a time, counting our 2 FR

He's not beast on the offensive end at all. He's an elite shot blocker though. Loads of potential.

I'd be really surprised to see Illinois take both Penn-Johnson and Conditt.

I could still see a guy like Sow but he'd be more likely if we didn't have Greg E in the class before.

I could see it. Conditt has the skills to be a stretch 4 type player and then have Penn-Johnson primarily a 5.

kind of looks to me that as you get taller that difference gets longer, but again your not talking about a big sample size go measure your own lolbet its longer then 5cm

Still an average of 1-2 inches which is what I've found is nowhere near 4-8 inches average.

Also, the NBA isn't a good sample because it is a benefit that helps to make them NBA level talent. No where near what the average person is.

Agreed. Conditt is also a guy that will need time to build up strength so shouldn't scare anyone off. Would add great depth and have the potential to play multiple positions.

I think we need two bigs. We are thin on bigs going forward. Not convinced Matic stays past one year when pro options availiable in Europe

Spot on. Am not banking on more than 2 seasons from Vesel. If we can get 2 of the 5 bigs we're in on, it'll have to be raining wings (e.g., THT, Nolley, Iggy) not to.

Why wouldn't he just stayed in Europe and went pro this year if that was his immediate goal?

Everybody knows the best basketball is in the nba.. The world doesn't revolve around the United States but the basketball world does.

He's not coming here and making this huge life change/move just to stick around for a year..

Loyola and IL State both loading up on some good young talent in state. Groce offered Payton but don't think this staff followed up much.

Top-60 wing Landers Nolley tells me he will take an OV to Champaign next weekend. Big-time #Illini priority. Underwood LOVES his shot-making
