Normal West opens Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament play on December 27 9 AM vs Bartonville Limestone. West will also play December 28 at 9 AM.

Great chance to see Okoro for anyone in the area December 27 through 29.

I don't know where you got your bright orange Kool-Aid, but it must have been spiked with something. Eboigbodin and Thamba (if we even get him) might turn out to be great players, but they are both project bigs compared to Tilmon, and those are never a sure bet.

Spicy G has turned out to be a project, but anyone that didn't see that coming was expecting a lot more than myself. As for Thamba, he has been playing alot longer, so maybe not so much. Lumping both together, might be an idea to give us a good big on the court at anytime.

Tilmon is a ready made to play now, which why all where so broken hearted when he decided to bolt. I think he might play in NBA, but his path has been prepared for many years. Spicy G is still working on his game . He has time to only get better, which is exactly why , with good coaching, he will be a good player. Thamba is probably would work great for us, and hopefully he will want to play with us. As mentioned before, he sure looks like a Baylor commit.

Oh my goodness! All Thamba has to do is watch no more than about 5 minutes of each of our games to see a huge hole in the middle and thereby a guaranteed 40 minutes of playing time immediately. I don't care how much of a project he is, he is someone we need to be in the middle. What is there not to like, from his point of view?

By the by, are we the only team playing all these 7 footers this year? Who let the cat out of the bag that we had nobody in the middle this year, then scheduled accordingly?

Did you write that in Serbian, then run it through Google translate? j/k

I think you can count on athletic bigs to at least offer some sort of defense and rebounding while their overall game catches up.

Underwood's success or lack of it at Illinois is largely going to be based on his ability to recruit and or develop some bigs. Without it Illini will always struggle to compete with the top half of the Big 10.

Boudreaux to Xavier. This shocks the cr*p out of me. He visited Purdue and Colorado.

Would love to see us add a legit big (Thamba, ?) to this class. Not only because we sorely need them, but, as others have touched on, it will allow Nichols to play as a 3. I know, I know, positionless basketball... Thing is, Nichols should be more effective playing as a 3 at least 50% of the time. Think he could be a devastating SF.

What info do you have that indicates BU did not go all out WRT recruiting Tilmon?

Very fair point. I have absolutely none other then him saying "We don't beg anyone to come here" which I took at face value. None of us really know what was happening behind the scenes at the time. We just speculate because we know the outcome.

Tilmon was signed here. He was gone as soon as we had a coaching change and Martin was hired at Missouri which allowed him to get out of the LOI and play for an East St. Louis alum.

Seems like a Baylor kind of player...that said, I would like more Baylor type of athletes...VT has me worried however, they already got one we were after...

VT has been looking at him since he was a freshman, and they have recruited several kids from Mountain Mission. VT has hosted the entire Mountain Mission team on several occasions. They're our biggest competition I think.

I got a good feeling about this one. Someone has to realize the potential of being a big and the playing time at ILL at some point.

I hope that get that Big! The one that is down to Illini, VT, Bayor and NU

So, what's the drawing card for Flo potentially going to the Huskers - playing time, the coach, players who will be there next year, or something else?
