I think you misunderstood his post. Taking 3 commits includes an oversign, which we would obviously have to resolve, assuming it doesn't resolve itself.

We have 2 left after Ayo. Not a bad spot to be in right now, IF we can sign a couple of players that are the caliber of Flo and Tevian.

#31, #168, #178 would as of now be the class ranking nationally of the three...wouldn't mind those numbers, as the last 2 players Flo and Tevian will go up much more imo.:chief:

Not concerned about rankings since Flo would be a project like Ebo who will pay great dividends in 2-3 years. Tevian imho is a miss by the recruiting services. It would be hard for him to break into a 10 man rotation his first year but I see 20 minutes his second year.

What are our chances with these two prospects?

Ayo with 30 pts, 11 rebs, and 8 assists in MPHS' 95-67 win against Butler HS. Fifth game in 6 days.

Any news on the Flo Thamba visit?

He said all of the normal positive things. He likes our coaches. He likes our style of play and could see himself playing here. He says that he'll commit sometime in Jan. The buzz is Neb or Va Tech, but he hasn't said anything about where he's leaning:chief:

I hope we get Jones. He is 4-star, top 100 now. Thamba? Not sure I want another project.

He's a "project", but not a project in the sense that Ebo and Vesel are projects.

We desperately need another big for next season. Even if he can't step in and start or give us 20 mins a game. If Thamba can give us a legit 10 minutes a game and provide a solid defensive presence, that's something we need.

If there are more ready-right-away options out there, I'm all for them. But it doesn't appear as if they're knocking down the door to come here. So, if Thamba wants to come here, we take him. And if he doesn't, we better hope a good spring option -- or grad transfer option -- materializes.

Flo is a need, we need another presence down low and he's got skills and some athleticism to boot. Tevian had the kind of easy athleticism that U of I hasn't exactly had in spades for a good long while. They would both be great additions to the class.

Omaha, Nebraska
2018- Ayo, Flo, Tevian Jones
2019- Okoro, Liddell, Kahlil Whitney

My dream. Do any of you think it's possible/likely?

Just my guesses, but....

Thamba = VA Tech
Tevian Jones = stays out west somewhere (though I think we have a real shot)
Liddell = Illinois
Okoro = not sure, but Illinois appears to have a very legit shot
Whitney = stays out east

As much as I want to avoid getting on that carnival ride again, a grad transfer with size may be ideal.

At Pekin...Okoro had 14. Way under utilized, but most bigs are in high school. Quick leaper and long. Limestone had a 6-6 guy who was decent. Brought the ball up against pressure one time when the guards abandoned him and showed a decent handle. Painter was the only high level D1 I saw.
