Black and Frazier are the only two players making any substantial contribution. No one else is playing anywhere close to their ability.
Underwood needs to find a way to wake them up or we'll be 0 for the conference.

Beilein's first year at Michigan, they were 10-22 (5-13 in the Big Ten). His third year, the Wolverines were 15-17 (7-11). Early in his tenure, plenty of Michigan fans questioned and regretted coach Beilein's hiring.

Archie Miller, in his first year at Indiana, has been trounced by Indiana State and Fort Wayne - both in Bloomington. Lots of Hoosier fans have also already grown skeptical of Miller.

We're definitely not good right now. But, really, our cynical feelings about next season ("we're gonna suck next year, too", "all we're getting is Ayo - not enough", "it burns when I pee") are no more rational than our once optimistic feelings about this season ("Underwood has never missed the tournament", "the experts are underestimating us", "Finke's hair makes me question my sexual orientation").

We just have to wait, and suffer some - and enjoy some - and see.

I mean, this definitely feels like sh*t, but one challenge presented to all sports fans is to learn to suffer with dignity.

Well said. As to the bolded--I thought a lot of Illinois fans were also Cubs fans. I figured suffering with dignity was ingrained.

Not much good at all tonight but still just one game. All teams have one of those games where nothing seems to go your way and other team gets on a roll. Although I am a big fan of Underwood and believe he will eventually get it right, I do think he needs to better control his frustration. He is pressing as much or more than the team and it shows. The end of the bench at least ran the offense. Not a good time to have Michigan State next up.

Smith isn't playing at the level we had hoped right now, sure. But there were more than a couple big time coaches who all saw something in him and offered him a scholarship. They couldn't all be wrong.
