ahhh... Dirty Randy
Who would be the best result for 19, Liddell or Cockburn? Lot of love for Liddell but lower rated than Cockburn but different positions. Does it depend on the development of Kane, GBez, and possibly Braun? Curious as to opinions.
I think we're on commitment watch.
Haven't heard about other teams getting involved. Arizona apparently isn't pursuing and the LSU visit was a while ago and he didn't pull the trigger.
I want Whitney and Cockburn for 2019. I think Liddell wants to leave the area.

Maybe Illinois should target recruits more who are actually out of the area, but still have connections to it, like Whitney.
It seems like many Illinois athletes want to go out of state, but some of our best recruits (in many sports) live far from Illinois, but had some connection to the state and/or the University.
For example:
Alan Griffin (basketball) - Finished high school in New York, but lived in Chicago area when father coached for the Bulls
Jordyn Poulter (volleyball) - Grew up in Colorado, but has family in Central Illinois
Bryan Baumgarten (golf) - Grew up in California, but both of his parents, his grandparents, and other relatives are graduates of the University of Illinois
Zeke Clark (tennis) - Grew up in Oklahoma, but his father played tennis at Principia College in Illinois
Ohio State or Louisville is where I see him landing. $$$ is on Louisville actually.
I hope to god that we aren't slow playing him. Who else is even out there that we would consider slow playing someone?!
Supposedly kid and dad are on board just need Mom's blessing should know early next week at latest

Cockburn by a landslide for me. He has great post skills for a guy that has only been playing basektball for about 4 years. He's a game changer in many ways. Liddell is a really good player, but i feel like he's being a little overvalued by a lot of posters. Im not convinved he's a big time player at the college level. I think he will be solid but nothing spectacular. Cockburn has potential to be a special player IMO.
My fear is that he ends up at Ohio State. They're a sneaky team in that recruitment.

Would you say that Cockburn would leave a lasting impression? Personally, I wince at the thought of him.
He will do well...but he is a tier 2 pick up for a blue blood. Ala Charles Matthews.Agree Liddell stock has raised significantly was Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois over two top 50 seniors going to Illinois and ISU high major programs pretty impressive accomplishment for a junior.
Whitney alone gets us back to the sweet sixteen.

I don't know who is #1 on the list, I would guess Whitney too, but its ridiculous to say Liddell's "stock has dropped". He had a phenomenal season won Mr. basketball as a Jr and is tearing up AAU by reports I've read. His "stock" is through the roof. Now maybe Illinois' stock has dropped in his eyes, or maybe he was going to a blue blood all along... but it certainly isn't the other way around.
