Feliz shot 77% FT and TJL shot 61% FT and TJL was absolutely painful to watch at the end of games and at the front end of one and ones. Not to mention only 5 threes all year. El General with a 41% 3 pt %. Not even close.:thumb:
our best hope is to be a top tier 3p team and play decent D down low. Giorgi is a passing big and many are sleeping on him I think. Griffin too.

True, but we've also seen players put up impressive numbers against lesser competition and then struggle to duplicate that performance in the Big Ten.

As much as I liked Tejon, I'm betting Feliz is going to make us forget him pretty quickly.

Alan Griffin great stats, not highly ranked, will earn playing time.

Griffin I believe will be better than advertised when all is said and done, I do think however, he will have more of niche or role career rather than a single breakout time.

That said, nothing wrong with this and glad we have him, hope we get his brother as well.

Alstork was on the floor for his defense and some degree TJL too. Wonder who will be the breakout defensive stopper among newcomers?

This is a great point. Especially uf Ayo and Trent are scoring there is a lot of time for a great defender.

I'm sure others have more recent examples but Bardo got his freshman time from defense. The much higher regarded Smith barely played.

DaMonte take a bow!

I can't wait for the team W-L prediction thread.

Then start an unofficial early one! It's not like there's a lot of unknowns at this point, and even if you need a hedge, you can put it in there (e.g. assuming Kane is here, my prediction is...)

Gives people something to discuss if nothing else.

If he does it could be great (because he is really good)or really bad (injury or disappointment elsewhere), but we are loaded at guard and he has to jump at least 2 of them to make the rotation, so if things go well, he can be very good and still not see much time. If he plays, who do you take minutes from, Frazier, Ayo, Feliz, Damonte, AJ, Tevian, Kipper to make room, even assuming we are playing 4 guards 100% of the time there is a lot of bodies in front of him.

Alan may be playing better than the other freshman you have listed since we've had limited summer practice updates, so they may have to take minutes away from him - yet to be seen. ;)

11-9 Conf with 10-3(losses: 2 in Maui and ND)non-Conf...21-12 before the BTT.

11-9 Conf with 10-3(losses: 2 in Maui and ND)non-Conf...21-12 before the BTT.

9-11 Conference
7-5 Non Conference

Total 16-16, no bid, learning year with this group, and lack of height that is system oriented leads to a sub par season. A entertaining one but sub par with wins/loss again.

hopefully all of them

Lol, orange kool aid ;)

My thoughts for best case scenario:

Ayo could be a on the ball nightmare, and/or lead the B1G in steals for freshman

Feliz could be very good defensively due to experience. More so just being in the right position and handling stronger guards better than the others

Tevian could be a very versatile defensive player for us, some games getting steals and other games getting blocks. Closing passing lanes with his length. Maybe not so much stat sheet stuffer but an influencer on the court

Kane best case scenario is just to bother people down low with his length, hopefully average a block per game as a frosh and also disrupt passing lanes

Those are the 4 I have the most expectations from on defense of the new comers

Sounds right to me. Besides Giorgi, each recruit has the length and athleticism to be an impact defender (Griffin could be added to that group). We'll see what actually materializes, and who can use their length to make up for less experience and strength/bulk.

They may not be high flyers but Giorgi and Griffin have plenty of length.

I would love for it to be Giorgio because that would mean we have a big defender but he looks to be the least likely. My vote is Ayo 1 and Kane 2. Do believe with this defense best defender doesn't necessarily end up with the steal but forces a bad pass that a teammate steals. Trent beneficiary of TJL defense last year and Ayo this year??

Take your guess', someone save the post and lets see where all of us Kool Aid drinkers end up in March?:chief:

8-4 non-conference
8-12 conference

Also 16-16. It feels brutal to be only .500 with 8 conference wins, but that's the nature of the beast with them upping the conference schedule to 20. I'll re-visit this once we have a game by game listing, but for now I'll go with 16-16.

Dan, please delete this post. The level of realism is offensive to me.
