Absolute gift of a win. Going to enjoy first place while it lasts. One, maybe two weeks?

P.S. I am embracing my role as Illinois Loyalty Bears fan cynic (complete inverse of my Cubs fan persona).

The Cardinals did everything possible to give that game to the Bears and the Bears almost didn’t take it.

Gotta turn more of those field goals in to touchdowns.

Good to see the tight end in the offense.

It seemed like the Bears had a negative yardage play after every single first down.

Hey, I'll take it, hard to complain about a win on the road. Yeah the Cards have had a rough start and the Bears should've won more handily, but keep it mind the 16-point underdog Bills just massacred the Vikings in Minnesota. Even the worst teams tend to show up when you least expect it. Bears are now 2-1 and head home to face the Bucs, which might actually be the game of the week. Bucs play the Steelers tomorrow, so they will be on the road after limited rest (just like the Bears this week).

And your sad-but-true stat for the day- the Bears have won two games against NFC opponents this year, surpassing last year's total of, um, one (17-3 against the Panthers, thank you Eddie Jackson for scoring both the TDs to seal the win). Oddly enough, they were 4-0 against the AFC North last year, but 1-11 against the NFC.

What do we do with Mitchell? do you think we'll see improvement? There are little flickers but generally i dont feel he's got it.

What I like: best uniforms in football. Period. Bears lead NFC North: ahead in points allowed; only a TD or so behind the Packers in points scored. I like Coach Nagy, sounds like an eager, intelligent straight-shooter, likeable. And did I mention great uniforms? Boy I like that combo: white jersey, navy blue pants.

I have very little interest in seeing what Chase Daniel can do, or some bum off the street, so you just keep moving forward I think.

Yeah. At this point the bears have very little choice other than to keep going with Trubisky for at least the rest of this year.

Either the light is going to click on at some point or it’s not. And if the answer is “not” it’s going to be a different general manager figuring out what to do next.

As Loyalty's most verbose uni-ologist, I can confirm that the Bears have terrific uniforms.
Thank you for your uni-verbosity. But the Bears don't need no stinkin' numbers on no stinkin' shoulders. My only, trivial complaint.

I missed it: who blew coverage on first Cardinals' TD?

I'm so old I can remember Cardinals in Chicago.

Da Bears. Monsters of the Midway? Maybe not this season, but soon?

My one great hope is that the family will sell the team to someone who knows what to do with it (Ricketts-like). But right now it appears to me the Bears have a pretty decent GM and coach. Bring the Bears back to championship form in remembrance of GSH. Orange and navy blue forever!

Theres no way Pace will get fired. He signed one of the best players of this generation and one of the brightest young coaches of this generation.

A win is a win and they looked better as the game went on.

Give credit to the Bears for coming back and winning today. Every win is important, especially getting a road win out west. They should be in every game this year with that defense. The offense continues to disappoint, as does Trubiskey. However I think there is some sloppiness throughout the offense, especially in the running scheme and how they react to blitzes. As far as Mitch goes, his play every week will be graded by the coaching staff. And I'm sure in private they are not thinking that everything is hunky-dory with his performance. However as fans we should realize that he is the number one cog in their plan. They aren't going to pull him for Daniel unless something really egregious happens. It's not a question of whether or not he deserves it. This is the plan and they are sticking to it.

They’re 16-35 since he took over and won’t improve that record significantly if Trubisky is a bust.

Mack is certainly a great player. He better be. They traded two first round draft picks to get him and drastically cut into their ability to improve this team. For better or worse, the players on this team right now are the players Pace and co think will get them to the playoffs.

If Mack was the final piece to the puzzle of a playoff team, great. If Trubisky is a bust and 15 or 16 months from now Mack is just the difference between a 5-11 team with a top 10 draft pick team and a 6-10 team that doesn’t have a first round pick, then Pace will be out of a job, and deservedly so.

Is it strange to feel worse after a road win than I did prior to the game? The defense looked less dominating, even though they shut down the Cards offense after the first quarter. The offense, looked too gimmicky. It seems most throws were either in the flat or 40 yards down field. Mitch had a couple of nice throws in the 8 - 20 yard range. I hope they see that and consider some mid distance tosses. It doesn't do any good to have a 70% completion rate if 3 passes add up to 7 yards.

The Trubisky hating is ridiculous. Obviously, he is the key to this whole thing, but you have to give him time to develop. He only started 13 college games. His first season was basically a wash (I mean, does anyone even remember the WRs last year?). New coach, new offense, new receivers all the way around. Yeah, he hasn't been good, but let's at least see how the season shakes out.

I don't agree with this at all. The Cardinals played poorly, sure, but 221 yards of total offense, 4 sacks, 4 turnovers and 14 total points is an A+ defensive performance in the modern NFL. It was the best week for the D so far.

The bolded is all anyone is saying.

And again, it is a true fact that he only started 13 college games. That might be a contributing reason why he will emerge a year from now, later than comparably drafted QB's. That may also be a contributing reason for him being a colossal, historic bust who gets his coach and GM fired and causes teams to shy away from one-year starter QB's in the draft in the future.

Just to put some numbers on it for context:

Collegiate Passing Attempts

Baker Mayfield - 1497
Patrick Mahomes - 1349
Deshaun Watson - 1207
Josh Rosen - 1170
Sam Darnold - 846
Josh Allen - 649
Mitch Trubisky - 572

My problem with him is not so much his decision making at this point, but his horrible accuracy. I thought that should be a strength. Just plain missing fairly easy throws in the flat is not acceptable. He better shake off whatever that bug is or the int's are going to pile up in a hurry.

Not as much playing time in college. Still adjusting to the speed of the game. Adjusting to a new offense that has been reported to be very confusing. Nagy said he is taking things easy which obviously shows he is thinking too much. Accuracy is a correctable problem with time I believe. Unless his mechanics are way off which I don't think is his problem.

Pace has put his job on the line with how MT plays as a QB. But the decision on Pace and MT won't be made at any point in this season. Realistically it will play out all of next season too.
