They’re 16-35 since he took over and won’t improve that record significantly if Trubisky is a bust.

Mack is certainly a great player. He better be. They traded two first round draft picks to get him and drastically cut into their ability to improve this team. For better or worse, the players on this team right now are the players Pace and co think will get them to the playoffs.

If Mack was the final piece to the puzzle of a playoff team, great. If Trubisky is a bust and 15 or 16 months from now Mack is just the difference between a 5-11 team with a top 10 draft pick team and a 6-10 team that doesn’t have a first round pick, then Pace will be out of a job, and deservedly so.

Well yeah if they’re that bad then Pace is gone. But I’m thinking the other way around where they are 10-6ish and Trubisky isn’t enough to get them into the elite.

Mack has already proven to be much more than just adding a win or 2. We would be 0-3 without him. And I think thus far Trubisky has proven he won’t lose a whole lot of games. He just isn’t good enough to win games yet.

One thing to remember when comparing Trubisky to a guy like Mahomes is that Mahomes had a preseason and a year on the bench learning Reid and Nagy's offense and you're seeing the product of that this season. Hopefully Trubisky can look that good once he gets fully engulfed in Nagy's offense.

I see Chris Conte is still playing for the Bucs. He just got destroyed on a straight-arm.

If the Bucs started fielding offers for Jameis, would you want the Bears to get involved?

Also, he's a free agent in 2020. Perfect timing to give Trubisky this year and next to see what he's got and potentially sign Jameis if Trubisky fails to improve.

Great start by the Bears, haven't seen Howard since the first drive. Wonder if he was hurt or benched. Cohen with some huge plays today.

There is a really good dynamic happening here. Trubisky's limitations are settling down some of Nagy's nutty professor tendencies, which in turn is keeping things simpler for Trubisky and getting him in rhythm, helping some of those limitations. A virtuous cycle.

If you would've told be the Bears would be up 28-3 early in the second quarter, I would assume they had forced at least 3 or 4 turnovers. But zero forced turnovers?
