Is that sarcasm? I've seen Izzo, Calipari and Coach K absolutely tear into their players on the bench during games. Self can get out of control on ocassion too.
fyi...good story of Self throwing out Cook in practice in Werner podcast media interview of Brett Dawson (beat writer during the early 2000 timeframe, the first half is mostly sleeper stuff of jounalism path today, but in the end he has a few stories including one of him ripping into Cook, the story was supposed to be off record, then he called him at half time of the football game and told him to go with the story because Cook needed to be embarrassed.

This board has descended into chaos. I don’t understand why some of you are forgetting the great foundation laid with the 2018 class which has same real studs.

The Illinois a lot of you view is not the Illinois in reality and time is needed to bridge that gap.

The sky is not falling.

Let’s just enjoy our Monday, ok? I still have the scaries while typing this.

I have no idea how people get so upset when a recruit that we all know and acknowledge isn't going to pick Illinois actually turns out to not pick Illinois. Anyone that thought there was a chance at EJ after Mark Smith left and Tilmon and Pickett bolted was really kidding themselves. Guys talk and, if one guys has had a bad experience, right or wrong, he can easily place doubt in the minds of others with negativity. When the expected happens, I just don't get why it is so traumatic for people around here.

We were "blue blood" then.

Look at the historical win-loss record of Illinois teams. This team has never been blue blood and really, is not as great as many think. There have been some very good and memorable seasons mixed in with a lot of meh.

In that time period ( Lou, Lon, & Bill) 582-296 with 18 NCAA appearances.

It appears TSJ will go to Georgetown this weekend, however without his parents. His Mom and Dad are divorced and his Dad is in his 19th pro season and playing in Panama. I'm not a custody expert, but I'm guessing the NCAA requires both parent's signature on the LOI. Dad lives in Florida in the off season and I'm guessing he balked at the DePaul decision thus the de-commitment. He wants TSJ somewhere in Florida after IMG.

So Shannon looks like a long shot. Bummer. We could use a committ to help settle the boards nerves

In a real head scratcher, Alabama was in to visit Timme on Sunday and have made him a main target. Not sure what to think of the whole Timme recruitment.

I have seen the board "freak out". This is not it.

I knew the board. The board was a friend of mine. ¥ou're no Illinois Loyalty Board. (if anyone can remember back to 1988)

Good background info. Definitely helps put things in context. FWLIW, I'm betting mom prevails. We'll see.

2019 Zeke Nnaji cut us yesterday. Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, Baylor and Purdue are the final 5

Underwood's 11 recruits average ranking is 200+, so a top 150 kid is definitely an improvement.
1 ) Too small a sample size especially this early in his tenure, and 2) do you expect those recruited to fill out a team (end of bench guys) will be in the low 100s? We're not Duke or Kentucky so our best hope is to get good results for our top 1-7 players for now.

If so this could be a mess, quick look on NLI site and I wasn't sure, this site makes it sound like only 1 is needed. Link
Are you younger than 21 years old? Then you need to have one of your parents or another legal guardian sign the NLI as well. Most people are younger than 21 when starting college, so this is a very common requirement.

Nope. Not. even. close.

Our station was certainly much, much better than it is now though.

Circa 2006 when we were heading to Iowa City undefeated and ranked #6 - probably the height of Illini basketball prestige all-time, honestly - we were absolutely in the class of Arizona, Syracuse and Michigan State. No doubt about it, especially given recent performance/momentum. However, a Blue Blood we have never been.
