Bears up 13-6 at half. Defense has been good and has really limited what Bridgewater and Carolina's offense can do. Bears offense hasn't done much but hasn't really needed to with how well the Bears defense has been. Lone score was on a short field following an INT.

Bears defense play a whale of a game and made some key stops late. Offense still isn't looking great which is something Bears fans would have hoped to see improve in this one. Especially against a bad run defense for the Panthers.

Bears start 3-0 on road for first time since 2006. 3rd road win that season was the Denny Green "Crown them" game in Arizona. Bears ended up going 7-1 on the road that season en route to an appearance in the Super Bowl.

2nd straight really solid win. Next three teams will be rough. A combined 12-3 record.

After that, the last 7 are two games against GB and 5 bad teams.

It’s surprising how atrocious the Vikings are. I keep waiting for them to be better, but after getting thumped by Atlanta today, I guess they just must really be that bad.

Bears late game fortune is real this year. Thank goodness Bridgewater couldn't connect with Moore late, who almost made a helluva grab anyway.

The defense is legit. Bridgewater was running for his life back there trying to escape the Bears pass rush. Kyle Fuller must have put on some muscle this year because he's been bringing the thunder. He got whistled for a bogus penalty on a clean hit but made an outstanding open field tackle on Bridgewater near the goal line that saved a TD.

Really felt this should have been a more comfortable win honestly. Questionable calls kinda kept the Panthers in it. A W is a W though.

Yeah. Last week all the close calls seem to go the Bears’ way. This week they all seemed to go against them. It evens out, I guess.

That personal foul on Fuller and the PI that put the Panthers on the 1 yard line were both pretty bad.

I screamed and scared my children my when Matt Nagy called a pass on that 3rd and 2.

By the transitive property Matt Nagy scared my children and I don’t like people who scare my children.

I might need to reevaluate the Bears win over Tampa in light of what they just did to Green Bay.
This was the trap game of the week. Same with the Bears/TB game and the same with the colts/bears. Follow the money and percentage of bets.

Sounds like you're saying 5-5 in those ten games, for a record of 10-6 overall.

That would be my prediction. Which would solidly put them in the playoffs with this year’s expanded format.

Speaking of which...

Who’s the best team in the NFC? Seattle is the easy answer, 5-0 with Wilson throwing up huge numbers. But they’ve played a pretty unimpressive schedule and all of their wins are by one score.

I think it might actually be Tampa, which is odd to say just 10 days after their o-line imploded against the Bears.

Dallas wasn’t great with Prescott. They’re godawful without him.

And they still might be the best team in the NFC East.

Nice to see Nick Allegretti get some love from Troy Aikman on last night's broadcast.

It's stunning to me how unproductive the Bears' offense has been under Nagy. In today's game teams pass for over 300 yards almost without trying and the Bears hardly ever get to 300 yards of total offense in games. I give Pace credit for putting together good defensive personnel but the talent on offense is just poor.

Some of it is talent (o-line) and some of it is play design/calling. I like Nagy personally, seems like a good guy, but his offense is offensive at times.

Two things...

  1. The Bears scored more points in the first 16 games under Nagy (421) than they have in the next 22 (not including the playoff game) games (408).
  2. They are averaging 21.8 points per game over the last 38 games. They are at 21.3 points per game this year, good for 27th out of 32. They were 29th last year at 17.5 points per game.

Do though numbers include defensive and special teams scores? Year 1, I seem to remember, had a lot of those.

They do include non-offensive touchdowns.

I think the most damning thing is yards per play.

The Bears are at 4.8 (27th) this year. League average is 5.6. They were at 4.7 (31st) last year and league average was 5.5.

Those are both significantly down from Nagy’s first year when the Bears got 5.4 a play (20th) and league average was 5.6.

But at the end of the day, Nagy is 25-14 as Bears head coach (playoffs included) and will continue to get chances for a while as long as he keeps his winning percentage up there.

Following up on Nagy...

He and Pace basically have the Bears right back to where they were under Lovie. Consistently pretty good, but not a real threat to win it all.

Nagy’s .658 regular season winning percentage is almost identical to Smith’s .663, albeit over a significantly smaller period of time.
