Ehh...I'm not going to claim I "thought" he would be, but I never thought he was definitely an NBA player. I honestly wouldn't have been surprised had he been a 4-year guy.

I bet there was someone on here that posted that at some point.

There are the obvious questions about Ayo being an NBA guy. He has never shown plus playmaking, passing, athleticism, or shooting. I DO think he is going to be a pro because of his hard work and his size, but there are definitely legit questions that have always been there.

This is NOT me saying that I called him being here 3 years!

I do remember saying something to the effect of while he may not stay three years, if he does his trajectory will look a lot like DWill. Now he's an AA and All B1G guard with a chance to lead us right back to where we were with DWill.

Since we're hoping Kofi is an NBA All Star this year, Ayo becoming a lottery pick...like DWill... would also bear lots of fruit for our run this year!

I was listening to a sports radio guy talk about this year's draft, and thought it was interesting to hear his thoughts on the Pistons (7th pick) getting a PG. He said a PG that doesn't shoot the 3 ball well is a non-starter UNLESS that guy is a killer in the open court, can get to the rim, and makes other guys play faster.

I checked the 2021 mock draft on NBADraft.net a couple days ago, Kofi no where to be found and Ayo to the Lakers at 59.

Ball went 3 and he struggles to shoot the ball. I am shocked Ayo returned because this draft is incredibly weak. It tells you how much he loves the school and how he wants to leave his legacy. I expect him to be a killer this year. I’m interested to see the 2022 PGs we go after. Is there any names out there already?? Is Drane from Simeon good enough to get an offer?

Ball is a magician with the Basketball. He throws Magic Johnson type passes. I am not a fan of his, but he has so much hype. Ayo should be a first rounder next year.

To me Ayo with improved range is a Shai-Gilgeous Alexander type player - which is a very good player and better than Lonzo Ball now. Lonzo though has a chance to be good, but I don't know if he has the will to want too.

They were talking about LaMelo not Lonzo, although Lonzo did go second, so it seems like Ayo should definitely be able to move up into the lottery if he improves in the right areas

New CBS 2021 mock draft has Ayo going #12.
I wasn't shocked to see Ayo left off of NBA draft projections this year. That killer end-of-game mentality we saw in previous years wasn't there until half way through the B1G season last year. Not having a post-season really hurt him as he lost the chance for the world to see how he can carry a team, especially with his clutch play at the end of the game. I believe this year will be different and the Ayo that we've all grown to love will be front and center all season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a lottery pick next year.
