Correct and (likely) correct about the TV. I guess maybe they have started to view Friday night as prime time in this COVID world with presumably fewer people out and about on the weekends? I don't know. Even without homer glasses, one could argue that Iowa and Illinois meeting again this year is the most hyped matchup in the conference season, especially before our losing streak. Both hyped teams (we were the preseason Big Ten favorite, after all, and Iowa has spent most of the season in the top 5) that have some seriously bad blood lingering from last season.

I don't buy the TV talk. They already have the TV slot ready to go where the Iowa-Nebraska matchup would have been slated to play and a Sunday afternoon is going to draw way more eyes than a Friday evening, even with people staying in for COVID.
I genuinely think the only real answer is that the B10 and the Illinois / Iowa programs just didn't think it through.
Doubtful networks like ESPN and the Big Ten Network could or would want to change their staffing commitments and advertising commitments on such short notice for the Illinois-Iowa game..
The Iowa game is on FS1. I’m sure they’re limited on how flexible they can be based on announcers and supporting staff. Friday night only has so many quality games, as well. But FS1 has the rights to a very highly rated game. Why would they give it away?

The only source of revenue is TV so I expect they are maximizing every game. If that limits some ability to reschedule I think that’s understandable this year.

If it is indeed a high ankle sprain, I don't think he'll be on the court. He came back too early by suiting up last game and it bit them.

Watched the rerun of the Iowa-Indiana game. Pretty good example of how a team can miss a couple of quick 3's, turn the ball over once, and they are down 10 points.

(Bonus if you can identify that actor and his prior role affording him TV fame in the US.)I suppose this is as pleasant a way as any to pass time until a meaningful basketball game occurs again.
