No thanks! It seemed that in that interview Deon had with Dee that all of that stuff was a distraction cause they were all up in the locker room.Bill Murray, we would love to see you again!

Their ball movement and ball screens confused Virginia all night. Plus they had their all conference guard dropping shots all over. Maura was their only primary ball handler and he ran circles around Guy. Whenever VA drove to the basket, they would score bit they were inpatient and lazy. You're right. I just watched some of that game and hadn't recalled that UVa just didn't seek to penetrate much and had poor perimeter shot selection. Meanwhile, UMBC just carved them up with ball movement, open outside looks, and driving. Raftery offered this gem near the end: "You lose these games two days beforehand. Are you mentally prepared? Do you respect your opponent?" I'll bet more than one coach of a high-seeded team has shown his players that horror film during the runup to their first game.
I remember as they were throwing everything up and I believe they made a last second shot to make the difference 6For those old enough to remember that McNeese St game, we put in the backups with about 2 minutes to go with the score 71-51 and McNeese St start hitting every shot they took it seemed like for those last two minutes.
Yes I did notice that also. I laughed at the guy who said we only have 2 good players and it shouldn’t be a problem getting to the rim??? I guess he failed to notice we have an athletic man child at 7 ft 300 lbsIn fairness, their initial discussion in their bracketology thread seemed to be around how they got screwed in seeding and even more screwed by drawing us.
It quickly morphed into "I think they're the most beatable #1 seed."
Having said that, Drexel hasn't played a Q1 game all year and is 0-1 in Q2 games.
He was their 6th man and he did not make that much of a difference. BTW, everyone is making a big deal of the Loyola run. They barely got by a average Miami team, played their toughest team in Tennessee, played a three Nevada team and beat Weber’s KSU team. They beat a 6, 3,7 and 9 tw to get to the final 4. Of UV would have played smarter, things might have played out differently. That Loyola team is much better Han this Loyola team.Plus Virginia was without one of their top players in that game too.
Hard to believe this year there will be anyone outside the bubble anywhere close to these guys.No thanks! It seemed that in that interview Deon had with Dee that all of that stuff was a distraction cause they were all up in the locker room.
I believe 3 of Virginia's were Ralph Sampson teams. This is our fourth No. 1 Seed in school history (1989, 2001, 2005 and 2021), tying us for seventh all-time:
1) North Carolina - 17
2) Kansas, Duke - 14
3) Kentucky - 12
4) Virginia - 7 ... that was a surprise...
5) Arizona - 6
6) Michigan State, UConn, Georgetown, Oklahoma - 5
7) UCLA, Illinois, Ohio State, Villanova, Gonzaga, USC - 4
8) Indiana, Michigan, Syracuse, UNLV, Purdue, St. John's, Stanford - 3
9) Louisville, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Memphis, Pitt - 2
10) A bunch of teams with 1
I look forward to tying MSU/UConn/GT/OU next year. Seriously, though, pretty impressive!! FTR, 1979 was the first year with seeds.
USC with 4 huh. That kind of surprised me. I don’t ever remember them being goodThis is our fourth No. 1 Seed in school history (1989, 2001, 2005 and 2021), tying us for seventh all-time:

Surprised that UCLA and IU aren't higher on that list with all their past success. Just shows how rare #1 seeds are. Enjoy it!This is our fourth No. 1 Seed in school history (1989, 2001, 2005 and 2021), tying us for seventh all-time:

I think at least one Drexel fan acknowledged that their best chance, by a very wide margin, involves Illini COVID protocol problems on a massive scale. Take enough players off the Illini sideline and eventually Drexel has to be the favorite. My guess is that their second best chance involves shooting 100% from 3.I'd challenge a Drexel fan to watch the 24 minute highlight video on Youtube of our B10 tourney run and stick by the statement that they have a chance.

Most of their success came in ancient times before 1 seeds were a thing.Surprised that UCLA and IU aren't higher on that list with all their past success. Just shows how rare #1 seeds are. Enjoy it!
