Get to know the Loyola Ramblers!

9th in KenPom, 10th in NET rankings, 3-2 against Quad 1 (losses at Wisconsin, Drake, wins at Drake and neutral vs Drake and neutral vs Georgia Tech), 4-2 against Quad 2 (losses at Indiana State and neutral vs Richmond, wins at Missouri State x2, at Indiana State, and vs North Texas).

They run at almost the slowest tempo in D1 (342nd of 355 teams), which makes their already good defense look better than it is and limiting possessions (think Wisconsin but good defensively).

Offensively, they excel at shooting (adjusted eFG is 9th in the nation), but not offensive rebounding or FT generation, and are middle of the road in committing turnovers.

Defensively, they limit fouls, control the defensive boards, generate turnovers, and limit effective FG%.

Best win is probably the game they just played, or an 81-54 win at Drake in February. Worst loss was a 5-point loss to Indiana State way back in early January.

Typical starting lineup is 6'0" 180 lb Braden Norris, 6'1" 180 lb Keith Clemons, 6'4" 208 lb Lucas Williamson, 6'7" 235 lb Aber Uguak, and 6'9" 255 lb Cameron Krutwig. Norris and Clemons are their long distance shooters, while Uguak is shooting almost 72% from 2 point range. Krutwig is the center of the offense, and their primary distributor. They like to work it into Krutwig, wait for teams to double him, and he'll pass out to open shooters. Defensively, Williamson is the steals generator while Krutwig prevents teams from getting ORs.

Loyola is gonna be super pumped just like Mizzou was

We have GOT to come out with intensity
Do you really think we aren't going to be pumped. Being pumped and being good/able to do are two different things.

Loyola looks like their offense runs through their C a lot, relying on getting him the ball and possible kick outs to facilitate their shooters. I've seen it mentioned that they are similar to a bargain brand Michigan. Seems we match up very well against these types of teams since Kofi can play 1 vs 1 against centers down low, really taking them out of their rhythm when they can't get the double team in the paint.

We have came out flat multiple times this year
That means nothing right now. We just won the conference tournament and beat numerous top 10 along the way. We won the majority of those games being flat. Loyola will need more than being pumped and us being flat to beat us.

Sounds like iso Kofi defensively on krutwig and glue to shooters. Make them 1 on 1 players. I think we’ve run that game plan pretty well a few times these last couple years.

Loyola is massively overrated.

They don't have a single great non con win, got whooped by Wisconsin, have losses to Richmond, Indiana St. and play chumps in their conference. They're best win is against an 11 seed Drake. Wouldn't be surprised to see them lose to GT, even without their best player. But it's March so I guess anything can happen.
Calling AirNeezy. Still think they’re overrated?

If you think you can find another Kofi, not going to happen. A serviceable replacement, nah. Just drop the word replacement and think about who can play the post next year and complement the TEAM talent and style we have then.

In Brad we trust, he will adjust
Enoch Boakye I think would do just fine! And he tries to sink everything and can take you off the dribble and finish strong!

Got to get GB to hit his bunnies. Remember the 2nd round game in 05 against UWM. Who was their coach? The troublemaker. We whooped them. On to Loyola.
