Get to know the Loyola Ramblers!
9th in KenPom, 10th in NET rankings, 3-2 against Quad 1 (losses at Wisconsin, Drake, wins at Drake and neutral vs Drake and neutral vs Georgia Tech), 4-2 against Quad 2 (losses at Indiana State and neutral vs Richmond, wins at Missouri State x2, at Indiana State, and vs North Texas).
They run at almost the slowest tempo in D1 (342nd of 355 teams), which makes their already good defense look better than it is and limiting possessions (think Wisconsin but good defensively).
Offensively, they excel at shooting (adjusted eFG is 9th in the nation), but not offensive rebounding or FT generation, and are middle of the road in committing turnovers.
Defensively, they limit fouls, control the defensive boards, generate turnovers, and limit effective FG%.
Best win is probably the game they just played, or an 81-54 win at Drake in February. Worst loss was a 5-point loss to Indiana State way back in early January.
Typical starting lineup is 6'0" 180 lb Braden Norris, 6'1" 180 lb Keith Clemons, 6'4" 208 lb Lucas Williamson, 6'7" 235 lb Aber Uguak, and 6'9" 255 lb Cameron Krutwig. Norris and Clemons are their long distance shooters, while Uguak is shooting almost 72% from 2 point range. Krutwig is the center of the offense, and their primary distributor. They like to work it into Krutwig, wait for teams to double him, and he'll pass out to open shooters. Defensively, Williamson is the steals generator while Krutwig prevents teams from getting ORs.
