I know this will probably be an unpopular take, but my ONLY issue with TF and DMW coming back is height/length. With Curbelo seemingly taking a greater role, we are small.

Maybe it is selfish, but I want my hunger for long, athletic combo guard/wings/stretch 4s filled!

Goode and Melendez are coming. Having Trent and DMW back softens the blow of potentially having to rely heavily on two freshman.

Also, Hutch is pushing 6' 7".

If Kofi doesn't come back, who's our backup 4/5? I'm guessing the transfer portal will be our friend here, but was wondering if anyone has a clue who we are close with that might fill this role. I don't particularly like the prospect of Lieb and Hamlin being our backup bigs to Payne.

Understood. I was just thinking that "running it back" without Ayo (and possibly AM), even Giorgi, we lose athleticism, while the shorter lineup can be troublesome.

I don't mind relying on two freshman if they are talented 😉. But, yes, balance is overall a good thing.

Hamlin's probably gone and Lieb is a project, so you aren't the only one with this concern. Gonna have to wait until the big man decides, which will be very close to the deadline, I reckon. Fully expect our staff has some irons in the fire.

With Trent and (hopefully) Demonte, we at least have a baseline of expected performance.
It would be phenomenal for any of the freshmen to push those guys for minutes. No one will be handed anything.

Why it would be especially nice to get a guy like Mitchell locked up soon. He plays the 4 either way (with or without Kofi back) but could be the backup 5 in a pinch if Kofi doesn't return.

I’m not so sure Mitchell is interested in playing the 5. Payne looks to be the backup there regardless. If Kofi does leave we’ll be looking to the portal for a new starter

I would feel better about the team if Trent and Damonte came back at this point. The loss of Giorgi and Ayo, in addition to the likely loss of Kofi and AM tells me we need senior leadership. With AM, Giorgi, AC, and Grandison I felt we can plug in the new players. But to many unknowns going into next season, but the young players coming in are a very good sign.
