Was reading somewhere (Stltoday maybe?) about O'Neill, Bader, and Carlson being the Cardinals OF of the present and future.

I know he hasn't played in as many games as the others but Bader has looked a lot better this season than he has the previous two. His K% is way down from what it has been the last two years.

With a single in the 5th inning of today's game, Yadi has now passed Albert Pujols for 4th all time in career hits for the Cardinals with 2,074. He still has a chance to pass Rogers Hornsby for 3rd between now and the end of the season at 2,110. Yadi likely won't catch Lou Brock in 2nd before Yadi's career is done and he definitely won't catch Stan Musial who is the all time career hits leader in Cardinal history.

After watching him hit his first couple of years I would not have thought it possible. The story line I heard the broadcasters tell us game after game was that TLR didn't care what he hit as long as he keep catching as good as he was doing. He worked very hard to improve his hitting. I'm very impressed with him and his work ethic.

2022 Cardinals schedule has been released: https://www.mlb.com/cardinals/sched...pxZ6FHDGDmy/bcboel/g/5Lvh&bt_ts=1628111430106

Among some of the highlights:
-Season opener is March 31st at Pittsburgh.
-Home opener is April 7th, also vs. Pittsburgh.
-First Cubs-Cardinals series of the season is a brief 2 game series that includes the Cubs home opener on April 4th with another game scheduled to be played April 6th. Cubs do not make their first trip to Busch Stadium until late June (June 24-26).
-NL Central faces the AL East this season. Cardinals face the Orioles (May 10-12) and Yankees (August 5-7) at home and the Rays (June 7-9) and Red Sox (June 17-19) on the road. They do the split home-and-home series with Toronto (May 23-24 in St. Louis; July 26-27 in Toronto) and their traditional interleague rival Kansas City (April 12-13 in St. Louis; May 3-4 at KC).
-Cardinals will have their season series with the Mets (April 25-27 in St. Louis; May 16-19 at New York) and Giants (May 5-8 at San Francisco; May 13-15 in St. Louis) done by mid-May.
-Unlike this season where they were done with the NL West before the All-Star break, they only have one west coast trip before the All-Star break and that's the 4 game series at San Francisco mentioned above. The Cardinals final road trip of the season includes trips to San Diego (September 20-22) and Los Angeles (September 23-25).
-Final series of the season is also vs. Pittsburgh (September 30-October 2).

Just never know what your going to get with this team. Late lead with your best 2 arms, and they give up 5 runs. 2 run lead now a 3 run deficit....... and the bases still loaded.

Why do I even watch still? It's like watching our football team. I do it and still can't figure out why.

I've pretty well given up on this team, and that pains me, being a lifelong fan. But there is something inherently wrong with it. Such as, four consecutive bases loaded walks? That's Little League stuff, and just one small example of the bad things I've seen this year.

I went to bed after at 5-4, I just couldn't watch anymore. Shouldn't have turned it on in the first place.

Cardinals sweep the road trip. First time they've done that since May 5-10, 2017, when they swept a road trip to Atlanta and Miami.
And, according to the Cardinals' website, it's only the second time they've swept a road trip of at least six games in franchise history.

It's gonna be tough in the series against Milwaukee though, getting Burnes, Peralta, and Woodruff. This series is the one tough series against a team over .500 in a stretch that started last weekend where they hosted KC, then traveled to Pittsburgh and KC. After the Brewers series, they host Pittsburgh for 3 (I'll be at the game next Saturday) and Detroit for 2, and then travel to Pittsburgh for 4.
