White is an incredibly talented scorer, so I’m not convinced….consistency and defense are his only draw backs but he’s a young guy so he could improve thereThey aren't going to keep all these guards.
White's gonna be moved. They are silly not to.

He fouled him on this play though, which kind of negates the hustle. Regardless, fantastic first game for Ayo, got a few buckets, played solid defense (I don't think I saw him give up a bucket to his man all night), and most importantly looked like he belonged.
It's stuff like this that makes me a believer in Ayo having a long successful NBA career. He's a coach's dream. I'm thinking an Andre Igoudala type career where he's sticking around the league to his late 30s, and is a valuable piece to championship level teams.
Of course if he proves me wrong and has a Kobe Bryant type career instead, I'd be fine with that.
Coby White and Troy Brown are both out. It's going to be tough sledding for him to get minutes, but Billy Donovan likes to play a lot of guys, so hopefully there aren't just strings of DNP's for him.
I'm dying like a little league parent watching this of course.
A blown layup and a sloppy turnover are rookie nerve stuff, the two bricked wide-open threes are the piece that points toward the exit door of the league.
But of course good moments too. It's Ayo, he imposes himself on all facets of the game, you can't miss him.
Did Garza play?Wow, it would be hard to find anything to be negative about with Ayo's performance in his first game in the league. He showed he belongs in the league.
Jared Butler went 0-5 from the field, 0-4 from three tonight. Joe Weiskamp was Inactive-Coach's Decision for a couple other 2nd rounders tonight.
nopeDid Garza play?
Making millions riding the bench, cool. Anybody hear what his salary was?nope

He doesn't play for the red soxBuckets of wings
Thought I read the expectation was a 2 year, league minimum deal. That would be $925k this year and $1.5m next year.Making millions riding the bench, cool. Anybody hear what his salary was?
They don't need scoring help and they are guard heavy. White is the best trade piece they have.White is an incredibly talented scorer, so I’m not convinced….consistency and defense are his only draw backs but he’s a young guy so he could improve there

Eh, I think the front office takeaway from just 10 total points off the bench is definitely going to be "we need Coby's scoring on the second unit". It does help Ayo that he accounted for 7 of those 10 points though. They don't need scoring help and they are guard heavy. White is the best trade piece they have.
First time since 2017 the Bulls are over .500. Coincidence that Ayo is now a contributing Bull, I think not!Ayo had 7, they won by 6. My orange Kool-Aid is whispering that Ayo won the game for them.
I'm not saying Ayo was the fastest guy on the court last night, but he sure looked like the fastest guy on the court last night. He is flying in transition, it's fun to watch.

Exactly my thoughts. At least based upon game 1, bench scoring may be a need. I get the team is guard heavy and White is best trade asset, but if not getting some scoring back I don’t see how they can trade him if they really plan to go for playoffs this year. Hopefully they can find trade partner with right player so that Ayo has clearer route to minutes, but as a Bulls fan if they can’t then keep White.Eh, I think the front office takeaway from just 10 total points off the bench is definitely going to be "we need Coby's scoring on the second unit". Very possible. Hopefully the bench shakes off early rust and gives them a reason to deal.Eh, I think the front office takeaway from just 10 total points off the bench is definitely going to be "we need Coby's scoring on the second unit". Not just the best plus/minus from the bench, he was the ONLY plus from the bench. That stat jumps off the sheet!Best plus/minus from the bench tonight. That's the way to start.

He had a great first game but let's be real +/- is only useful as a long term stat. He could just as easily have a good plus minus based on who he was playing with as he could based on personal performance. Not trying to be a negative Nancy over here though so don't roast meNot just the best plus/minus from the bench, he was the ONLY plus from the bench. That stat jumps off the sheet!
