Talent from Dallas Texas! Do you know why? they all drove Chevy Blazers and IrocZ's sports cars from her dealership. 😆 donors need to step up now because it's legal and we need to get those players into the U of I! no reason we can't do it or facilities are wonderful and Coach BB has put together an outstanding staff. The Ga def looked like the 85 Bears against New England. Hutchison and Ajabo didn’t show up on def. Shows what a good o line can do.

Why are we talking about the SEC like they are on a different level? Alabama 100% is on a different level but I just watched 3 SEC teams lose to G5s, 1 lose to one of our mediocre teams and another 1 get blown out by a mediocre Big 12 school with nearly all of them being essentially home games.

Are they on average a better conference? Most years but it's an incredibly top heavy league with their mediocre teams just as mediocre as ours which I'll admit wasn't necessarily true 10-15 years ago. I couldn't imagine us pounding our chest if god forbid our B1G rival wins a natty which is commonplace among SEC fans and players.

"Amateur" ollege football is circling the drain. If the goal of the sports media and/or the NCAA was to create a small subset of elite teams that the networks could focus on to provide commentary, analysis, hype etc. and the NCAA could focus on to maximize revenues, they certainly have accomplished that. Many who tired of watching these super teams compete for the championship are tuning out (including me).

Even when the media and football fans around the country consider the B1G the top football conference in the country, many on this site automatically have been brainwashed into thinking that it is the SEC. I have lived in the South for over 25 years and have watched the SEC marketing machine at work. MI lost because this year's O philosophy did not match up well, at all, against GA. And losing the ALL B1G cb destroyed what they do on D. MI might beat Bama 35 to 40% this year but, I truly believe the MI would lose every single match-up against GA. That doesn't mean that I think that GA is better than Bama. It just means Bama's approach and talent gives them a chance to do things against GA that MI could not accomplish. I think that OSU would have beat GA like Bama did but, OSU could not beat MI on the day they played. IMO, the SEC is vastly overrated with the exception of Bama and generally a 2nd good team (this year, GA). Too many on here believe the hype. The fact that the SEC is willing to plan to throw the ball 30 to 50 times a game gives them major advantages in big games like last night. Someone, on another site, credited Bama's pounding the ball on the ground for their win against Cincy. They didn't start pounding it until the 4th qtr when they had a big lead and were just trying to run out the clock. They totally ignored the fact that Bama threw the ball 23 times in the 1st half. Back to your point, I totally agree with you!! The SEC is not what many here try to make it into.

5 pass attempts on the first two possessions/ 24 offensive plays (including 1 on the first touchdown drive). I’d call that pounding the ball and establishing the run.

I believe their RB had a career night.

It might not. Illegal cheating rewards well developed systems of transmitting the money through a booster network to the players, aka the SEC.

Legal cheating rationalizes the marketplace more, brings the richer alums of certain schools into play, and the marginal value of Michigan's 4th five star is higher than Georgia's 21st.

Anyone know why Iowa was able to play 13 games this season? A 13th game could have put us in a bowl.

My favorite part of Iowa football currently is how much having Brian Ferentz as their OC is driving their fans nuts. He’s likely going nowhere because his dad is successful enough, which likely drives them even more nuts. Fantastic.

PSU just dropped their bowl game and finished 7-6 after very high expectations this year. James Franklin is a great recruiter but an awful coach. I think we have more than a fair chance of winning a few games against Penn State over the next few years despite the talent gap as shown this year.

In effect, the NCAA is now minor league football without the NFL having to pay for it. Everyone wants to vilify the NCAA for taking advantage of the players, when in fact it's the NFL that set up the restricted entry to the marketplace. Now that the players can be paid under NIL (and we've already seen multi-million dollar deals announced, it's very clear who the haves and have nots will continue to be.

As much as it pains me to say it, under today's rules my vote would be to kill all college athletics, and let the colleges focus on their primary goal, which is to provide higher learning to students, not to provide minor leagues to the NFL and NBA.
