Hey Cairo , how's the A-hole prick in laws doing ?.....You got to gloat and rub it in yet ?......Happy for you
They have losses to Syracuse and PSU at full strength. They shouldn't be ranked.Indiana will be ranked ahead of us since they beat tOSU...trying to be rational like voters here
Question: is it just chance that the Off and Def league average are the same 1.027? Or is it standardized somehow to center around that?Everybody's played 3 B1G games now, let's see what the EM standings look like:

Still early, and yes, Illinois' opponents have all been effectively bottom half EM teams, but that's partly because they've played Illinois.
At this point, the teams have effectively separated into 6 tiers:
T1 - Illinois, still in the stratosphere
T2 - Michigan State, clearly separated from everyone else
T3 - Michigan, Indiana, Ohio State - Solid tournament teams net positive in the league early on.
T4 - Wisconsin, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa - Neutral thus far, early struggles (or in Wisconsin's case, one early blowout loss)
T5 - PSU, Minnesota, Maryland, Rutgers - Bottom half of the league, outside looking in on a tournament bid if they can't improve, mostly just played Illinois so far.
T6 - Nebraska - Hey, they did play one close game and look to improve their metrics next week against...*checks notes*...Illinois and Purdue. Oh well.
It'll be the same if all the games included are conference where the teams play each other bc the underlying games are all the same for both columns. Add one non-conf game and it'd start to drift.Question: is it just chance that the Off and Def league average are the same 1.027? Or is it standardized somehow to center around that?
To expand on this, it does not necessarily have to add up to a specific number, though (here, 1.027). They only have to match. It'll be the same if all the games included are conference where the teams play each other bc the underlying games are all the same for both columns. Giorgi would've been good to have tonight.I am sure BU has his reasons, but I admit I was thinking we needed a little RJ with about 5 minutes left in the first half.
I don’t know if Kofi will make it in NBA, but with the improvements he’s shown this year I wouldn’t bet against him. His improvement in FT shooting and passing back out of the post has had a huge impact on the team. He’s not perfect at either, but what strides he’s made. His footwork has also greatly improved this year. He still puts up a wonky weak shot here and there, but most of the time he has a plan and purpose with the ball. With the improvements to his game, I don’t think Kofi is done growing his game.
Others have mentioned, but it's effectively a zero-sum game including only conference games. For every point a team scores in a possession, the opposing team allows a point in a possession. It's effectively a check for me to make sure I included everything on both ends (it should always sum to zero), but the number itself is dependent on how effective the league average offense is.Question: is it just chance that the Off and Def league average are the same 1.027? I have a new second favorite NBA player (behind Ayo)....thanks for coming down to C-U tonight, Demar Derozan. Go Illini and go bulls.
Remember that time when some thought Liddell was transferring here?Show of hands--who would take Liddell over Kofi?
You actually said "picking at nuts" earlier, and it confused the heck out of me, lol. Thanks for the clarification and no worries on the nits, it's been an interesting dialogue.I know. I said I’m picking at nits. But, with how good this team is, I don’t wanna lose a tourney game because of this strategy. That’s all.
I was at work and got autocorrected. Lmao. You actually said "picking at nuts" earlier, and it confused the heck out of me, lol. Thanks for the clarification and no worries on the nits, it's been an interesting dialogue.
This is so important to our program. We are “cool” to an NBA superstar (much less a Chicago Bull superstar). This bodes very well for future recruits.
