Sounds bigger/better than a Plummer story. Plummer has played FAR better than expected. No idea how he came off the bench for Utah.

That said, Plummer is now the proof of concept they can sell any coveted guard in the portal—i.e., check out what we did with this guy.
Plummer is best Illini FT shooter I can remember. He leads the nation. If the ball even touches the rim he looks annoyed.

I don't think Kofi leaving is a forgone conclusion like some may think
Love your optimism…. I guess it will depend on whether he feels he is 1. Continuing to develop as a player. 2. Getting paid NIL $…. If not he will either enter the draft or play professionally overseas. Have you heard anything encouraging about NIL$ at Illinois?

I'm willing to bet Kofi is gone after this year. Personally, I think expecting anything else is optimistic.

I think he lands himself in the NBA. But even if he ends up overseas, college fans seriously underestimate how much money there is to be made overseas.

1) Brad et al. have earned well beyond the benefit of the doubt.

2) Sophomores Epps and Harris will be good to very good backcourt players that would not be bumped from starting/the rotation arbitrarily.

3) Is shooting something that one can improve? Of course. But why take that risk when you can raid the transfer portal or recruit proven shooters (Boswell) to try and get what you need when you need it? Plummer won’t be the last unreal shooter we get from the portal and his success story is the proof of concept we can sell seasoned transfers in the portal.

4) Do not underestimate the impact the Adam Miller saga had on this recruitment. The program is in a position where it doesn’t need to make promises to attract top talent and win.

Onward and upward.
We are now in a position where we do not need to bribe kids with playing time. Griffin was the start of the lesson and Miller closed it

I'd still like to understand what happened during that THT signing?

Can any insiders please explain to me what happened?

I'm guessing more development potentially along side NIL$ > oversea$? That's of course assuming he doesn't still quite have enough draft stock.
Looking at Mock Drafts. The best I have seen Kofi is 58 to the Warriors. He still has not sold his game to the NBA, yet. Overseas could be a avenue but if he is making a good chunk of change in college, he could stay another year. He loves BU and another year would not hurt.

It’s been explained a number of times on this board and each time the attack dogs come out and disparage whoever is doing the talking. I’d suggest google and look for the story from a media person you think is trustworthy. It’s no secret.

Wonder if he played in the B10 and went to the B12 and current school has 2 of our 3 colors...I'd pass if it is, but I'm just an upper-level mobile pass ticket holder.
I want a big-timer with 2-3 seasons left that has ITGR at about a 60% clip and plays lockdown "ELITE" defense.
I'm trying to figure out who this is based on your clues. What's our 3rd color?

If he doesn't get told he's bound for an NBA team, there's a real decision about whether his best long term play is NIL at Illinois plus a better shot at the NBA after a year versus somewhat higher money in Europe. Thanks to NIL, that's probably not an open and shut case.
