Homecoming 2019
- Chicago
He doesn't have the legs to dominate for long, Kofi would have eaten in the 2nd half had he not been in foul trouble so early on.Honestly, he feasted on Kofi, but was ineffective against Omar and BBV. I was surprised.

On refs....kinda think B10 needed Purdue to win this. Not sure why announcers are not willing to call refs out more.Saw this one coming. Purdue needed this one very badly, came out on fire and jumped on us.. Can never get a B1G game in without shaking my head at the officials, though..
Only in the Big Ten does "home court advantage" seem like on oxymoron when it comes to officiating.Great effort. Hard to overcome one sided officiating for the most part and a good team in the same game. Purdue also made a lot of difficult shots.
Right, forgot that we’ve played one more game. We’re still in sole posession of 1st place
Maybe. I thought Edey clobbered BBV on a dunk attempt and Ivey got the star treatment... one play in particular, he jumped into a straight-up Damonte and got bailed out by the refs. I thought Kofi's fifth foul should have been a non-call.You can absolutely blame this on the officials
The 2 calls that I felt most were the foul tgay was called on Trent on the 3 and the non call when Plummer was fouled on his 3.I mean in a 20 point blow out...maybe not. But in a 2OT game where we're getting absolutely hosed it's literally 5 on 8
Plummer on defense...but mostly agree. Had a ton of fun watching this oneI can't think of anything to be mad about, aside from some calls.
Heck of a game.
I have to disagree with you. We managed to stay in it despite the officiating. Will get downvoted big time here but officiating at the end of the day was not the issue.
Once we got that game into overtime, it was completely in our hands and we should have won -- there is no excuse there.
On another note, I will volunteer my time for free to teach BVB how to finish around the rim. His effort was unbelievable but we probably win this game if he finishes his looks.
I think most of us recognize it wasn't much of an issue in overtime although there were some questionable calls in both OTs: the foul on the Stefanovic 3 for instance. The problem is the two OTs don't characterize the first 40 minutes which were problematic officiating. Some of the fouls on Kofi were bs, making Jaden Ivey turn into James Harden, Edey getting away with fouls, moving screens by Purdue. Will get downvoted big time here but officiating at the end of the day was not the issue.

That run started with a questionable flagrant that gave them two shots and possession of the ball. A flop on a three we corralled in 2OT took it to a two possession game. So on and so forth. The crap calls were endemic. It's really easy to pin this on officiating, and they certainly didn't help, but we gave up a 17-2 run to end the first half. This was within our grasp despite officiating.
I know it's just one game but does Bosmans-Verdonk get some more playing time? Or was this just an aberration with Kofi and Payne's foul trouble for most of the game?
for sure, which is why i'm encouraged. we almost beat Purdue and the officiating today...It's really easy to pin this on officiating, and they certainly didn't help, but we gave up a 17-2 run to end the first half. This was within our grasp despite officiating.
It wasn't that lopsided by the end. You can't blame this one on the officials. This was a really good and hard fought game where we had little room for error. Needed Kofi still in the game late, but some of his fouls were silly on his part.
You shouldn’t be, Kofi is not a good defenderHonestly, he feasted on Kofi, but was ineffective against Omar and BBV. I was surprised.
I was, too but Omar and (particularly) BBV had quicker feet today. Plus BBV made Trayvion's life very difficult.Honestly, he feasted on Kofi, but was ineffective against Omar and BBV. I was surprised.
Omar had Trevion's number in the first half, when he went in for Kofi. That's what started out run. That run unfortunately ended when Omar got the flagrant, and then we had Purdue's mammoth run to end the half. Kofi is awesome, but he didn't bring it tonight, on either side of the ball.He doesn't have the legs to dominate for long, Kofi would have eaten in the 2nd half had he not been in foul trouble so early on.
