It's okay. We have Curbelo now, so there's still some flash.Lol...I literally just threw a mini tantrum in my head.
"I don't want to watch a game without Kofi!"
No, it is not realistic that he will hit 80% of his fadeaway 15-footers, or the like, but his future performances likely won’t be predetermined head down drives to the basket and frantically throwing the ball away.Sure, he said he was having horrendous headaches. It's hard to imagine that headaches WOULDN'T effect his shooting percentage on shots like that.
I just don't think it's realistic to think that now, after his return, he's going to continue to hit 80% on those (which it seemed like he did in the second half against Purdue.) If he happens to miss a couple in a row, let's not all get up at arms.
I don't remember which year, but I recall one of Groce's teams was missing like half the starters all year for various ailments. I started wondering if it was a symptom of poor S&C.In all my years as an Illinois fan, I can't remember a team that's had more injuries than this one. And it's not even close.
Has CoHawk practiced after his flu bug? Gonna need all the depth we can get. This is why I didn't answer last night and just put conflicting reports, last night it seemed that he wasn't sick or injured and that it was disciplinary then this morning it came out he is hurt.
I would LOVE for us to be able to just safely land this one this easily! Since hearing the Kofi news...I'm searching where 18-20 and 10 come from to create that gap.
Yea, there have definitely been worse. Tracy Abrams pretty much missed 2 straight seasons, didn't he?I don't remember which year, but I recall one of Groce's teams was missing like half the starters all year for various ailments. I started wondering if it was a symptom of poor S&C.
I believe that was his 2nd to last year - 2016 when he probably would have been fired if not for all of the injuries and suspensions on that teamI don't remember which year, but I recall one of Groce's teams was missing like half the starters all year for various ailments. VERY good point out on Maryland's issues. That can't be understated.Papi distributing when he's on the floor; BBV, Omar down low. Trent being Trent. DMW being DMFW and keeping a cool head. Plummer stroking it from the arc. C'mon. We're deep, we have Turbo Curbo back to a great extent, and we've got some seriously seasoned leaders. They're not going to melt like snowflakes. They'll ball, and bang, and win.
[EDIT: In addition, I see no analysis in your post of Maryland's woes.]
Unfortunately I feel like these are not updated. But I like it lol
It usually is down to poor S&C when that's going on. I can't recall ever having two concussed starters, let alone the catalyst and prime mover of our offense. Just terrible generally, and terrible timing.I don't remember which year, but I recall one of Groce's teams was missing like half the starters all year for various ailments. Purdue board has clear and irrefutable evidence of a brain tumor epidemic, so there’s that to consider. It usually is down to poor S&C when that's going on. If it was a trap game, it isn't anymore. No way they overlook this one with their All American center missing. First, we're coming off of a loss and guessing that BU will use this to circle the wagon and give a rallying cry.Seems like a good game to just get out and run. Rotate the 5 spot between Omar, BBV, and CHawk. Keep them all fresh and tell Frazier and Belo to push the ball non stop.
I would love to see how Belo can play with CHawk in the pick n roll game.
This is a picture perfect "trap game". Road game, against a bad team, in an arena that will probably be dead, and it's sandwiched right between two of the biggest games of the year. But I think the combination of a mature team, plus Purdue losing last night, plus Belo bringing back the energy, plus players wanting to step up in Kofi's absence means we will stomp them. Might take us awhile to get going but the last 5 minutes will be comfortable.
To be clear, although many on the Board had written them off earlier in the week, I never have. They have length and talent and have face-planted v. Rutgers and Michigan in consecutive games. I take for granted they'll be primed to play us at home.VERY good point out on Maryland's issues. That can't be understated.
