We need to rest Kofi quite a bit in the first half and keep him out of foul trouble. If we can play them even in the first half and then let the genies out of the bottle in the second half. Kofi and Curbelo...... Then I believe we win.

BV played well against Purdue. I'd be ok with a BV "rough up Edey" approach earlier in game.

I think whoever is on him has to use leg leverage....not straight up but lean with legs at angle behind.

Simple physics says he will roll over you if you are leaning and don't have any leg leverage.

He matches up with their bigs better than Payne. I wouldn't be surprised if we see him come in first off the bench

Definitely the two best teams in the conference. It’s going to be a slugfest.

Well, until OSU plays UM and the other walking heads pretend that is the big one.
I am glad we have OSU once and at home. They have won all the games they have been supposed to win so far. That makes then even with us, since losing a home game is bad, but winning at IU is good.

OSU still has 2 B1G home games to try to make up sometime, though I imagine they'd be more interested in getting the Iowa game in than the Nebraska game.

Unfortunately, we are not a pressing team. Sure seems to work against PU.
That and the matchups just make a win against Purdue (especially away) the most difficult for us in the Big Ten, perhaps the country. Just being realistic. Gotta trust Underwood.

I'm imagining the case if BVB were to come in early and give Eady a quick elbow to the face, just to see if the refs are going to call that a foul in this game. If that's going to be a foul, I think we can beat these guys, even at their place.

Yeah, I mentioned this before: If I was the coach, I’d have an Edey elbow clip reel on an iPad - maybe just place it up at my end of the scorer’s table on a continuous loop so the refs can see it every time they pass by.

Reason #942 why I shouldn’t be the coach…
I would probably borrow headgear from the wrestling team for Kofi. Probably too subtle.

Why don't we press some??

I see a grouping of Kofi and Hawk guarding the basket and the three freshmen pressing being very effective. It would give some of the starters a break, and the freshmen would have a some fouls to give and ball hawk like crazy!! Wear out Ivey and Stefwhatever....

ILL!!

The game Tuesday will be center stage on ESPN....won't have to deal with them solbering over the Duke-UNC match up right up till tip off and during halftime....think Kofi, TF, Belo and Co. will be Boilered Up and put any thoughts of them sharing a conference championship to rest

Now that is challenging the refs conscience..

Kinda like Curbelo getting tripped at Indiana...with no call.

I was thinking no tripping calls this game,...perhaps BU should say, "go get em boys..."

T Rank now has us favored in every remaining game except this one where we are a 6.2 underdog. Have expected to lose this one all year and would really be impressed if we pull out a win here. BU needs a game plan here. Wonder if this is a game where he should plan on having Kofi shoot the 10-15 footer. Bring Edey away from the basket and use his quickness. He has looked good the two times I remember him shooting it. Must utilize our quickness as that is our advantage to offset their size advantage.

Or put Edey in PnR situations with Kofi and Trent/Belo.

Even beyond getting concussed, banging with Edey down low did seem to take it out of Kofi. I think Kofi is definitely quicker. Let’s pull Edey away from the hoop and make him move his feet and see if he can do that without fouling.

I wonder how the matchups will play out this time. Underwood rotates Kofi a lot earlier in the game now, so if Payne starts picking up early fouls, BBV will almost certainly get some minutes based off what he did in the last matchup.

Curbelo is an interesting question. Assuming he's fit to play and comes off the bench, he creates so many opportunities on offense but was getting picked on defensively by either Stefanovic or Ivey. So I think our guard rotations will be predicated whether Stefanovic and Ivey are on the floor at the same time. If they are, then I think Underwood continues with Da'Monte on Ivey and Trent on Stefanovic. If one of them goes out, Curbelo in.

we held Pur to 7 for 17 at the free throw line; all we have to do is play that free throw defense and win a lot of games

From a Hoosier fan (after the loss to our Illini) at Inside The Hall, a forum for IU fans. No upvotes. Hoosiers may all be clowns, but it seems they have only one guy with a sense of humor.

Everyone is going to tout this as the "winner is the B1G champion" game. But really they have all the pressure. They are a game behind and they are at home. I'm hoping we come in and play loose. They have much more to lose than we do. IMO they still have another 2 losses on their schedule after this. I think we have 1 or 2 more losses after this.

So we win this game and it puts us in an extremely good position for an outright title. We lose and we are still in an extremely good position for a shared title.

Of course, it's the B1G, it's a grind. Anything could happen. Both teams could run the table after this one. I think at this point everyone knows we are clearly the best 2 teams in the conference.
