Is Boswell a one and done? Ranking that high usually an indicator but short for NBA.

Thanks for posting…who is the play-by-play guy? He’s laughably awful (swish! …with the big time dunk!). Why will I not be surprised if it’s DePaul’s guy, that would be about right.
It was Jonathan Hood, he's an ESPN sports radio guy in Chicago for many years, Kaplan did color - but neither are color or play by play guys obviously and it showed! Great game though

Its great to see a public HS hold its own against these basketball "academies". We lost something when players abandoned their family friends and home towns to go join these glorified basketball all star schools.

While I appreciate the sentiment, i doubt those players have abandoned anyone. I would guess most have been encouraged by their families to follow a path that will let them develop a skill that will likely get them a free college education (if they are good enough to be recruited to an academy), and for some, provide additional opportunities after college.
We have and will continue to have those players on our team. Hopefully we can appreciate that our loss in one area might be offset by gains somewhere else.

These kids are getting college scholarships no matter where they went to HS.

The cat is out of the bag as far as these academies but I would not send my 16 year old son away from home just to improve his basketball skills. If he is good enough for the NBA he will get there whether he goes to JR college, University, G-league and/or Europe.

The life lessons he will learn playing for the same coach and team for 4 years and living with his father and mother are more important than the glamour of touring basketball teams.

Loyalty to your family, your friends, your school, your hometown, your state. Plenty of time after college to see the world. No need to grow up at 16.

I’m guessing it would somewhat depend on the environment the kid is leaving behind (think Benji Wilson). A more structured schedule and change of surroundings could be a good thing for some. However, the education, guidance and association offered by some of these “academies” are… (ahem) questionable, so due diligence (not motivated so much by basketball considerations) by the parents would be important, imo.

I’m assuming that means AZ gets the final visit? (Unless we close the deal this weekend!)
I realize that getting that final visit is important in several ways...you can take into account the campus setting, training facilities, NIL, fan base, etc etc....but I really think the thing that will sell Boswell or any other 5* recruit is showing him how he's going to be used and fit into your teams immediate plans....show him that he can spend a year or two in O&B and make it to the next level....maybe even a first or second round pick....would be great if Ayo could be available to have a chat with Mr. Boswell this Saturday
