I have no problem rooting for UM over Purdue. Just have to visualize conference championship banner being raised at SFC (which will be made easier with a Purdue loss) and Edey elbowing Kofi. Not hard at all.
Must be tough to win consistently if you are not a P5 program. Great season and all of a sudden that expectation bar rises. Gonzaga has seemed to get past that problem.SIU thought they hit the lottery when Lowery took them to the sweet sixteen in his first year which is comparable to final four for a P5 school. Then followed with one of the highest rated recruiting classes they ever had. A few years later they were buying him out. The program is still trying to climb out of the hole he dug. There are similarities between him and Howard.
We can win the conference without Michigan winning. I will pull for someone else to upset Purdue.100% pulling for Michigan. I’d sell my soul for a B10 championship. Maybe I just did.
Lowery's first year was the 6th or 7th year in a row for ncaa tournament bids for SIU. They were actually starting to get compared to Gonzaga as one of the best mid major programs in the country. You're right SIU ran into problems, couldn't keep it going.Must be tough to win consistently if you are not a P5 program. Great season and all of a sudden that expectation bar rises. This above and some of that star recruiting class going portal can be the only logical reasons for rooting against MI tonight, as I suspected. Fair enough. I'll take the short term perspective first and foremost, though. The rest will follow. This is our year, and we want at least a 3-seed to bring us to New Orleans.Longer term we are better with Howard missing the tournament. If he reclaims any reputation as a coach by pulling off a Purdue upset to sneak into the tournament, adds a couple tourney wins, then Illinois is battling him for every 4-5 star out of Chicago that doesn’t go blue blood for the next 10 years.
This is the correct answer.I'm just rooting for Purdue to lose
Yep, the reason given for the Weber hire, IIRCLowery's first year was the 6th or 7th year in a row for ncaa tournament bids for SIU. Holy #metooAnd if Purdue wins… you’ll kiss Ashley on KY’s court?

That game doesn’t impact who wins the B1G, so I don’t care who wins that one.And Iowa at Maryland? Those that want MI tonight must also want Iowa to win. They're unlikely to take 8 teams from Big Ten.
I just hope that they beat each other up and wear each other down so much that whoever wins this game loses their next five games and whoever loses this game loses their next six games. It's games like these that you'll see Illini fans split on who they want to win. And that reflex you talk about is quite common ... whoever is trailing at the time, you root for.
True, but Iowa and MI are both fighting for that final spot from the Big Ten in the NCAA tourney. Personally, I would prefer Iowa to get it.That game doesn’t impact who wins the B1G, so I don’t care who wins that one.
Ugh. I’ve never felt less attracted to Ashley Judd than I do right now.And if Purdue wins… you’ll kiss Ashley on KY’s court?

I do. I hate Iowa with the passion of a preacher on Easter Sunday...but they belong in the B1G. Maryland does not. That game doesn’t impact who wins the B1G, so I don’t care who wins that one.
Looks as if Ashley really leaned into that one......And if Purdue wins… you’ll kiss Ashley on KY’s court?
