I just turned it off. What did Howard do?
I don't want to go too far into here say, as I only jogged over to the TV once I heard it was getting intense ... but I think Howard literally just started a fight in the handshake line and threw the first fist...

I hope we literally destroy them in Ann Arbor and never take the foot off of the gas.

Howard very clearly threw the first punch.
Well, more of an open handed slap on top of the guys head. Diabate was swinging haymakers. Michigan jersey #5 also with some big swings.

For those not able to watch, what happened?
Howard was upset that Gard called a timeout at the end of the game. In the handshake line, Howard wanted nothing to do with Gard, and they had words. Then Howard slapped a Wisconsin assistant on the head, and there was almost a full out brawl.

Whoa, that was a bizarre ending. And when the coaches start getting into it, it gives the players license to go after each other too. Just horrible.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any Wisconsin players even involved. It was all Wisconsin coaches and Michigan players and coaches.
Edit: Wisconsin jersey no. 0 definitely throwing punches too.

Wisconsin took a TO with 5 seconds left. Presumably Howard was upset over that. He waited to get in the handshake line, then got in toward the end of the line. He and Gard appeared to be having a heated exchange, Howard waved his finger in Gard's face. Players and assistants joined in, and Howard swung and hit a Wisconsin assistant in the side of the head.

I think you're right. 99% of the focus/blame should be on Juwan here (especially given his history), but Gard did not come across as likable or "above board" whatsoever. He is just a bit less of a punk and a bit more of a petulant pansy.

The last 40 minutes of Michigan basketball made me infinitely more confident we win in Ann Arbor

Wow, not sure if anyone just saw Juwan Howard throw a punch at a Wisconsin coach after game ended. Howard and Greg Gard had a heated exchange going through the hand shake line after the game. Howard was pissed that Wisconsin took a timeout with 15 seconds left and winning by 12. Which I understand why he would be pissed, by the way. But he carried it way to far when he tries to punch a Wisconsin assistant. That led to several Michigan players then getting into the fray and throwing punches. Definitely going to be some suspensions. Classless act. Can not have that. Like I said, I understand he was upset, I would have been too, but say your piece to Gard on move on. That’s the second such scrum he has been involved in, in his short time at Michigan. Not good for college basketball and not what you want your coach teaching young men.

0:58 Michigan still playing mega-pressure defense on Wisconsin, while down 16 pts
0:56 Gard calls time-out and puts in his subs
0:32 Michigan throws a full court press at Badgers after a made FT
0:23 Michigan still pressuring against Wisconsin's subs; they steal a pass and go full-court for layup
0:15 Gard/Wisconsin calls a time-out as Michigan is still full court pressing Gard's subs; Howard smiles as his players approach bench
0:13 Howard still pressing; fouls to stop clock
0:10 Michigan goes full court and misses shot; makes rebound lay-up

Game ends. Howard does not go immediately to shake hands. Decides instead to be last in line for the handshake. Howard decides to walk past Gard without shaking hands. Gard grabs his hand/shirt to say something. CBS music plays going out to commercial. They jaw. Scrum breaks out and cameras keep rolling. Howard slaps the head of a WI assistant coach. Diabate got a swing in.

Recap as I can gather:
- Howard had his team, including at least one starter, pressing with under 30 seconds left and down 15
- WI had backups in and they had no clue how to break that press
- Gard calls TO with 15 seconds left to coach his team on how to break that press
- Howard is pissed at the TO up 15 under 30 seconds, so he tells his team to foul - ok, whatever
- Howard joins the end of the handshake line and refuses to shake Gard’s hand, saying something as he walks by
- Gard puts his hand on Howard’s chest to stop him from walking by, seemingly wanting to explain the timeout
- Howard wants none of it, starts barking at Gard and puts his finger in his face
- other coaches and Michigan players seem to be intervening to try to break it up
- Howard swings an open hand at WI asst coach Krabbenhoff’s head (and lands it)
- brief melee ensues and spills into first row

Michigan and Wisky post game fight. This is the second Juwan Howard near fight with a coach. Not excusing Gard's behavior, but smacking another coach is no bueno. He has put other coaches on notice that if he doesn't like you or how you beat him he will get physical or try to intimidate you.

I see a suspension and UM action. This is coming from who has/had a favorable opinion if him.
