I love a good reason to make sure the ignore button works.
The voices in your head do no count as “sources”. . . . just sayin’ . . .Sources tell me Brad is listening to K-State offers after the loss
Guy who joined the board two days ago is always a reliable source.Sources tell me Brad is listening to K-State offers after the loss
If a biopic is ever made about Sean Miller's life, I want it narrated by Billy Crystal as he's ghostwriting Miller's memoir on the typewriter...
Yeah he’s out of the runningGuy who joined the board two days ago is always a reliable source.
Does that do it for BU rumors this carousel? Or anything else we need to fret about?Yeah he’s out of the running
Should be. One difference now between self is the AD now won’t get out bid like the AD back then. RGs ego got the best of him more times than not.Does that do it for BU rumors this carousel? Or anything else we need to fret about?
Wasn't it the year before Self left for Kansas that he flirted with Arkansas? That was when you kind of had an idea that for Self that Illinois wasn't for the long haul.
For real. With the roster churn between grads and transfers we need coaching staff stability
Take that deep breath, folks. Now let's keep TA on staff (and the rest of the assistants) and build on some consistency.
Yes. After the Arkansas flirtation, he signed an extension, said how happy he was at Illinois and was "in it for the long haul."Wasn't it the year before Self left for Kansas that he flirted with Arkansas? That was when you kind of had an idea that for Self that Illinois wasn't for the long haul.
TA not going anywhere.

No surprise there. Seems like a solid hire for Maryland. Good luck to him dealing with its fan base.Maryland officially announces Kevin Willard's hiring as its next basketball coach
The University of Maryland made official its choice of Kevin Willard as its next basketball coach on Monday morning.247sports.com
About the only way to get it into Guenther's head that he needs to pay top dollar to keep top talent.Self didn't "flirt" with Arkansas, he went into Guenther's office and told he was quitting to take the Arkansas job.
This is the key. I happen to believe Self that he ONLY leaves Illinois for KU, provided we can provide a competitive salary. That last part was a big "if" with RG, but it is very clearly not with JW. I mean, I feel like some Illini fans still have this insecurity that we are any more of a "stepping stone job" than the likes of Syracuse, Arizona or Michigan ... but I don't think we are.Should be. Maryland's fan base seems to have our passion/desire for success/high expectations without any of the Midwestern low key vibe.No surprise there. Seems like a solid hire for Maryland. Good luck to him dealing with its fan base.
That's doing a huge disservice to Maryland and it's historically strong basketball program. Mizzou is historically a middle of the pack program with a few stretches of higher quality (e.g., the Norm Stewart years).Random question... Missouri fans view Missouri as a "basketball school," right? Kind of thought they were the SEC's version of Maryland, minus a national championship, but maybe I'm wrong.
Every Missouri fan I know (and I have a family full of them) cares about football more than basketball. That's doing a huge disservice to Maryland and it's historically strong basketball program. OK, I guess my impression of Missouri basketball is colored by watching all the Braggin' Rights games growing up when both teams were actually good at the same time. I will say, the Norm Stewart years did last for... checking Wikipedia... 32 seasons (!), so that is quite the stretch. That's doing a huge disservice to Maryland and it's historically strong basketball program. With the passage of time, RG's tenure gets cast into a more negative light.Should be. One difference now between self is the AD now won’t get out bid like the AD back then. RGs ego got the best of him more times than not.
Few Years back I posted my encounter with Self in local restaurant....Monday....He spoke to about 6 people in the lobby..one guy says.." Hey Bill you goin to Kansas?" Self says..." I love it here, I"m very happy here, we have a great program....." Three days later.....>BOOMYes. After the Arkansas flirtation, he signed an extension, said how happy he was at Illinois and was "in it for the long haul."
Less than a year after that, he was out the door to KU.
