Dual credits as in AP classes, or are they something different?

AP is a type of dual credit, but there are other types that have become very popular in the last decade.

Many dual credits now come through a local community college. In this case dual credit courses are taught by a high school teacher during the school day through these local community colleges. Some universities (SLU and EIU for example) also do this. Most of these high school teachers need to have a Masters degree in the area of instruction.

Another type of dual credit is that some high schools allow their students to physically attend a community college during the school day. These are also considered dual credit.

A dual credit earned by a student counts for both high school and college credit. When a student graduates from high school and is accepted at a college/university the institution determine if the credits will be allowed to transfer. UofI has accepted everyone of my kids dual credits. They have come from EIU, SLU, Lincoln Land CC and Lake Land CC. I hope that makes sense.

Disappointing how fast some give up on an ultra talented kid who just went through a traumatic year. I want to see a totally healthy AC...and not in another uniform.

Agreed. I hope he returns. Very few players have the court vision he has.

Thanks! Expensive offspring! I also have one more still in high school. Plus, I have one degree and my wife has two from the beloved. I try not to think about how much the total cost will be for all those diplomas!

Here is my two cents on Belo (not that anyone asked) because I am really torn.

He was so good as a freshman. Winning 6th man, seemingly playing more under control, averaging 4.2 assists and 2.6 TOs.

He obviously regressed this year averaging 3.2 assists and 2.8 TOs, struggled with decision making.

Was this the familiar sophomore slump? The concussion certainly had an affect.

He is obviously a talented player. The question is..who is the real Curbelo? Is the juice worth the squeeze...

~ 25 years ago I was working on a project involving a chemical plant in Beaumont, TX. The senior chemicals guy there was probably the age I am now, a soft-spoken West Texan of few words. We were chatting over BBQ at lunch one day and I asked him where he studied chemical engineering. Turned out it was Texas Tech, and that he had grown up in Lubbock. I knew nothing about Lubbock except that it was up in the part near the OK panhandle, and that it was flat, dry and dusty.

"So what is there in Lubbock besides Texas Tech," I asked.

"The horizon," he replied without missing a beat or stopping to think about it. Still cracks me up all these years later.

Buddy Holly and Mac Davis were from Lubbock.

A lineup of Clark/Epps, Melendez, Shannon, Hawkins, and Kofi would be about the same height as this Duke squad. Obviously the results might not be the same, but I'm thinking that's the blueprint to winning in March.

My biggest frustration with him is that he never seemed to try to do anything differently to get better. And spent too much time talking about tuning out "the haters" and that he was just gonna play how he plays. Never really heard him say anything like "I played like crap and need to play better".

I don't think he owes anybody a mea culpa but I'm starting to understand why he may wanna try a different fanbase on for size with these garbage takes

I'm really torn because I'm invested in Curbelo...I don't know what happened at halftime vs Houston...but a few things have been bugging me...we're playing our best basketball of the season pre Curbelo coming back and the results going forward changed drastically...he makes the fantastic play...then makes the worst play given time and importance..our point guard needs to be a plus player for us to succeed..he is my Dawg but his plus/minus I'm guessing is not on average for what we need...if he challenged BU's game plan at half (hypothetical) and didn't go to the teams meeting...it seems like....

Well he recently excused himself by saying he was a "high risk/high reward player." That's a garbage mentality for anyone who cares about getting better. You should always look for ways to lower risk and increase reward. Settling for the status quo is weak.

It’s amazing how one game seemingly completely turned Belo’s future - against Chattanooga he played 30 min was +18 and was clearly the future PG - then after the Houston game he’s gone
