With Tim Anderson's connections to Meanstreets, what are the odds IL lands both Brown and Indrusaitis? It seems like our 2023 recruiting is completely on pause until our current roster shakes out, but are there any players we should be keeping track of? Any under-the-radar guys from outside Illinois (ties to Chester maybe?)?
Sort of off topic, but it would please me if you could somehow make your avatar's head bobble.

More on topic, curious what makes Brown the better/more highly ranked prospect than MJ? I've been somewhat underwhelmed by the few clips I've seen of him. He looks less athletic and slower of foot than MJ and I haven't really seen any of his vaunted back-to-the-basket game. Perhaps I just haven't seen the right clips. :)

No offense to last year's guys but if things "fall" in our favor and some experience in games for Sky and other guys to adjust to high major basketball we should be better. I know experience certainly matters but so does talent. Kofi, TJS, Hawk and others do have experience and last year's class and the edition of next season led by Skyy and others could be really huge. By the time the B10 rolls around we could be improved at every position. Losing Trent may be the only exception but even that spot we could be better. I think our team defense will certainly be better with more length and athleticism.

once Skyy commits and Kofi announces, the dominoes will start to fall
Any sort of time frame re: when Skyy is supposed to announce? Also anything on Kofi beyond prior to that April 24 date that we know of?

Yep, it appears that Shannon is wants to play with Kofi. I didnt know if they were close or as to why but that is the impression I'm getting. If that is the case then I like it.
I would speculate that Shannon wants a 0% chance that he gets forced to play out of his natural position so as to maximize his chance at the league. Having Kofi here is a pretty good way to not only do that, but have a successful season to boot.

I think the offense will likely be better. The defense is more of a question to me. Monte and Trent were plus defenders. Hard to replace that on the defensive end. Sure they were both smaller for who they typically guarded but they more than made up for it. Length does help but defense is always about effort and willingness.

I will say a line up of Skyy, RJ, TSJ, Hawkins, and Kofi has a very high ceiling. That doesn't even account for some of the other guys that would be in the rotation. Only concern would be 3 pt shooting. I don't think there is a lights out shooter on the team or talked about in the transfer market. They can be solid as a group but I wouldn't call it a strength.

that line up has to be best case scenario at this point right? that would be fun to see

I disagree that defense is always about effort and willingness. Those are two things those guy had. It takes more than just that. That doesn't mean that players are better due to that. That doesn't mean they could cover EJ Liddell or others that caused us major issues as well as Shannon or a more experienced Hawkins should be able to now. You need to have the size and ability to also.
I also am not sure that RJ, Epps, Skyy or Goode won't be very good shooters. I think they will shoot better than Trent or DMW. Trent was streaky but not a lights out shooter. Small sample size but RJ shot 60 percent from 3. I think he will shoot a solid 40 percent of better. Plus TJS shot it at nearly 39 percent last year. Not many guys last year were that good either.

Yes, but keep in mind that he's maybe 16 and has been growing like a weed. Not even close to used to his body yet. Will he be ready for high D1 in a little more than a year? Not sure, but there's gonna be virtually no point, hoops-wise, for 2 more years of HS ball.

His physical traits are what NBA scouts look at. I would love to know his wingspan...he looks like he has to be around the 7' mark for wingspan.

If he gets to 6'10" with that length and then starts to fill out physically...watch out

Perfectly stated, brother! He doesn't want to be Malcolm Hill Part Deux!

I've got an idea that we will be very happy with the additions of ALL 3 recruits coming aboard............I think PG is Epps to lose , that Ty will be either a starter or at least 20-25 minutes a game player.........Harris has that bulldog mentality and it might be hard to keep him OFF the court......

Now add in Skyy Clark and a transfer stud and set back and smell the gummy bears........

Just my very very humble opinion...........................humblest of the humbled masses.............................lowest of the low...................not noteworthy in any shape or form.................................pure rambling's of an uninformed carbon unit..............................
