Goode will be a significant part of the rotation I’m sure. Don’t think he’ll be a starter. I’m a good bit lower on him than much of this board, though.Goode?

can i ask why? he has good length, decent athleticism, and good form on his shot. He was relatively highly regarded coming out of high school and appears to have bought in to the "every day guys" mentality while receiving more minutes than any of our freshman. I don't see him as all B1G caliber necessarily but i could see him starting for us at some pointGoode will be a significant part of the rotation I’m sure. Don’t think he’ll be a starter. I think he’s solid and can be a good rotation guy, so maybe I’m not as low relative to most as I think I am. I just think he’s a bit slow/flat-footed/stiff, and I’m of the mind that the more guys capable of creating off the bounce the better, and that’s not him.can i ask why? he has good length, decent athleticism, and good form on his shot. I live in Ft Wayne and saw in at Aboite....I was also playing back in the day with Altenberger and see a lot of similarities. His 3 point shooting will only improve now that he has adjusted to the speed of the next level, and he seriously has great form, which usually means consistency.can i ask why? he has good length, decent athleticism, and good form on his shot. He’s been my #1 too, but the radio silence on him is concerningso can we flashback to the Terrence Shannon comment?
We still feeling particularly locky there? He's really been my #1 want since the beginning.
As of know we should be in good position, as I am unaware of any issues that could prevent us from taking him barring potential transfer issues. The other teams contending for him have issues such as no scholarships and transfer issues. I won’t say a but we should like where we are right now.so can we flashback to the Terrence Shannon comment?

Funny, it was also the way he played. Even he didn't know where he was going until the very endMy assumption is that the mystery news was Belo considering coming back, and he went another way. But committing to SJU the *next day* does seem like a fairly quick turnaround.
Ty’s shooting is a known issue. He shot 64% and 51% from the free throw line last EYBL season and high school season respectively. He also only made a combined 6 threes over the course of the AAU and high school season. I’m also not sure he has ever played the 2, during EYBL he played the 4 and was highly effective in his role and played point during high school but I doubt he plays that role very much next season. Illinois should have better options for the 2 because Ty will probably be spending most of his time at the 4 where he is most effective.I know Ty has been mentioned as a 4 but in clips it appears that he could guard a 2 and also has good handles. Like his defense in the clips and seems better than the others in that regard. Shooting is an unknown based on comments but seems to finish and rebound. Role to be defined?
They’d all settle for a final fourPurdue has gotta be up there with us.
If Jake stays it will be very interesting and still may even if he doesn't. If Goode gets stronger it could get very interesting between he and Hawk if Coleman can't improve on the 23 and 29 percent from 3 next season. Hawk seemed to be headed in the right direction towards the end if the season. We need 3 but preferably 4 shooters around Kofi.I think when the dust settles Goode will be the first guy off the bench next year. If he's starting that means we whiffed on the 4-5 main transfer targets the staff is currently eyeing.
Again, adding a guard like Ramey and Shannon and we will be a top 5-7 team to start next year*
*I strongly believe Kofi is coming back.
Anything more than 0% ginger is still technically "more", I guess.Goode is our next Plumm3r!
Only more D, more taller, more longer, more rebounds, and more ginger.
It was nothing. People just wanted to fill up 10 pages speculating Belo would return when it was clear that wasn’t going to happen. With Belo going to St John’s, it begs the question what was the mystery news that some may not like but others would?
Sorry, dub, Goode comes from the DMFW tree.Goode is our next Plumm3r!
Only more D, more taller, more longer, more rebounds, and more ginger.
I'm only going to get concerned once Kofi makes his decisionHe’s been my #1 too, but the radio silence on him is concerning
It’s the entire state, not just UT.Disclaimer: My next statement is potentially flawed because of my anti University of Texas bias.
My hang up on Ramey is that he has been stuck in an athletics culture at Texas that somehow combines losing AND entitlement. It’s a strange mix but it’s real. With BU being so culture based (understandably) knowing how Ramey reacts when faced with adversity is going to be paramount. Is he gonna work hard and power through like BU wants? Or does that Texas culture have a hold on him and he’ll just ride it out because “whatever.”
I hope that makes sense. I swear if you live down here or have at any point over the last decade it does.
Skill wise we need dudes who can hit 3s around Kofi. Not just kick outs but your primary handler needs to be able to pull when the defense goes under the ball screen. Even being a threat to hit a reasonable percentage can do it because when you look at the rim and the defense freezes you gain an advantage.
We saw what it looks like this year with Curbelo when teams don’t respect your shot. It doesn’t matter how good of a passer or finisher you are. They will dare you to shoot, and they will win those possessions when you do.
?????bingo. there will be 30mpg at the 1/2 for him. epps 15mpg, clark 25mpg,
Yeah, Plummer's quickness/burst + ability to penetrate and finish at the rim is a pretty significant difference.Goode and Plummer are completely different players. Plummer can actually get himself open. Not that Goode wont be an important player down the line but the Plummer comparison isn't a good one
I'm not sure there is another fan base on earth as thirsty for a natty as we are.
At 7’2”, he had to be the tallest player in Illinois history.'05 was his senior year. Also had essentially the same amount of PT as his freshman year. Then again, if you're 7'2" and want to play more, it would be helpful to shoot better than 40.6% from the field.
I could not resist doing the math on this one. For the season, Goode scored 56 points in 28 games for 2.0 ppg.Underwood said he believes Goode will score 1500 points as an Illini. That may be hyperbole, but it gives one an idea of what coach thinks about him.
Does he have to sit out a year? He already transferred once from Wichita State to Nevada. This guy to me is perhaps the most exciting guy in the portal outside of the obvious guys.
With Curbelo officially gone, I assume the staff will want to bring in another PG. Sherfield or Ramey would make a lot of sense, assuming they are interested. I think if you compare them:
Scoring: Sherfield
Athleticism: Ramey
Defense: Ramey
Distribution: Sherfield
Unknown who would be the better mentor for our young guys. That could be a big factor, as would be willingness to take a complimentary role. I think either would be great if we could get them. Outside of Shannon and Miller, these look like the best guys available, imo.
