I saw a guardian booster (a cardiovascular surgeon from Chicago) post it was around a million. He could have been overstating it though. I heard 750 mentioned on WDWs on Monday night but on Sat morning and the person from U of I overseeing NIL wouldn't say. He said that's Kofis business. It will not be disclosed by them. Still it's clearly a chunk of cash.I don't know if he can get a Mil, but I have seen written and heard on podcast from our Media that they ann believe it is greater than $500K. Lets say he makes $600K and his cut is $500, That is life changing $ for 1 yr at age 22. If you Invest $300 wisely, you are reall setting yourself up for long term financial security/comfortable life. If all he does is make $50 - $150K / year for his basketball career (this is worst case scenario right?), the first year of NIL will have him set for life. If he goes pro and only makes G league and makes an average salary, lets say $70K, that is a below middle class life style. Not Taking a $600K, 1 yr deal is a BIG gamble.
The growth plates of the AH are eternally open. These recruits have a great foundation, look like a more athletic Larry Bird.
That's not good for his future. Commentators were mentioning at the MKE/CHI game the other night that NBA bigs have to have a game established beyond the paint to be effective. No, he has never been a fan of off season workouts and or putting in a little extra work from time to time.
Levi Cobb opened back up the public league of Chicago at the time. Eddie Johnson came because of Levi and Audie Matthews. As LvilleILL mentioned, Ayo coming to play at Illinois is likely one of the biggest recruits we've ever gotten. He is likely top-3 all-time, as far as program-changing. I'd throw out a couple of other names...Eddie Johnson was a program changer for Henson, and Dee Brown was the same for Self. There are higher-ranked recruits than those two, but when they arrived sets them apart.
No, he has never been a fan of off season workouts and or putting in a little extra work from time to time.
This makes sense. I remember seeing him put in a ton of work up to the NBADraft, but not much after. No, he has never been a fan of off season workouts and or putting in a little extra work from time to time.
Man, that clip of Epps, Wow, he looks freaking good
Didn't JJ spend most of his life in "Iilinoise?"Iilinoise?....when this happens it doesn't usually end well...lol
I thought once you enter portal once you must sit a year if enter a second time? am I wrong on that?If he were to enter the portal ... Yes.
It's a one time "transfer" option, not one time portal. Since he stayed at Illinois, he is still eligible for immediate transfer.I thought once you enter portal once you must sit a year if enter a second time? am I wrong on that?
Oh ok thanks for clarifying that. Im not a fan of the rule but it is what it is.It's a one time "transfer" option, not one time portal. Since he stayed at Illinois, he is still eligible for immediate transfer.
Well that sucks to hear. No, he has never been a fan of off season workouts and or putting in a little extra work from time to time.
We're talking about Kofi right?Friday announcement...probably later in the day
Hadn't heard that one yet. Had heard the same rumor but with respect to Curbelo.is it true that kofi never got concussed during the purdue game? that the time off was just a mental/physical breather?
yeahWe're talking about Kofi right?
He took a very strong shot to the face from Edey and did not look right the rest of the game. Seemed like a pretty clear cut concussion.is it true that kofi never got concussed during the purdue game? that the time off was just a mental/physical breather?
Nah I heard he went to Disney World during that "break"He took a very strong shot to the face from Edey and did not look right the rest of the game. Seemed like a pretty clear cut concussion.
Because he’s “an Island boy” that is already dominant. No, he has never been a fan of off season workouts and or putting in a little extra work from time to time.
This is what it seems like outwardly too. Not trying to be too critical, but this is the time of year you usually see players putting some major sweat equity into their individual games so they can get to the next level. From the outside it seems like Kofi is using this time to take a little break from it all. Which is totally fair, BTW. But it does give the impression that he's not obsessed with improving his game like many elite players are.Kofi also has to be a little more dedicated to improving his game. Love the kid but he isn't doing everything he can to maximize his ability.
Thanks for the replies to you and others. It’s not really worthy of any more discussion, but here is where my thinking came from:Kofi would enter the draft if he is pursuing any pro option. I don't think he can not enter the draft and then decide to play in the g-league.
