Come on down Kofi. 1st team All-American. This could be a third year being an All-American. I believe during his second year he made the All-American team. His jersey will sure be lifted with other great ILLINIS.
Plus, he might become our second 2,000 point scorer! Maybe even break Deon's record!

I'll take Hopkins from KY, Kofi's return, James Brown and Nojus Indrusaitis (sp?) and be a very happy camper!

IMO they announce that they are returning. They won't announce they aren't coming back. Basically how Podz played out silence at the end of the season then entered portal. Big difference for upper classman vs freshman as these upper classman unlikely to hit portal. If they were coming back, I believe they would have communicated that.

Is it too harsh to say I don't prefer another freshman on this team?
If kofi doesn't come back, maybe but I'd rather get BVP if that happens or another upperclassman transfer.
Not at all. We really need a veteran guard to fill out the roster. And a transfer Big if Kofi leaves.

So I just looked this up - if Kofi matches his scoring output from last season he breaks Deon's record by 2 points.
Are you basing this on PPG or total points throughout the season? because he missed 5* games this year

Factoring in the five missed games, he would beat it by over 100 points if he maintained his 20.9 per game average. Could also beat it more narrowly by averaging a little under 18 per game over a 33 game schedule.

So time for some flashback photos to kill time waiting on news of Kofi's return... What else you got?View attachment 17391
Thanks for posting this photo. My Brother, God rest his soul, was going to school there at the time.
He was in the aviation program and became a United pilot. He was in ROTC also. Flight practice was out of Rantoul.
He was also good friends with Skip Thoren, a Rockford East graduate. My brother's name is Peter.

As LvilleILL mentioned, Ayo coming to play at Illinois is likely one of the biggest recruits we've ever gotten. He is likely top-3 all-time, as far as program-changing. I'd throw out a couple of other names...Eddie Johnson was a program changer for Henson, and Dee Brown was the same for Self. There are higher-ranked recruits than those two, but when they arrived sets them apart.
