Only downside to Cam, he can't shoot at the clip a lot of other options can. Clearly he is a take, however he is a freak athlete with limited shooting ability. Love the upside and college ready body

All I've read across scouting reports is that he (Cam Whitmore) is a consistent shooter from 3, and more than one report mentioned 75% FT shooting. Have not came across a report yet where its been indicated that shooting the basketball is an issue for him. Then again, many of these reports I am reading could be quite old.

Now we're talking about Nance, Whitmore and others....are these expectations serious or just wild speculation?

Not saying Coleman is leaving if we get anyone but more so just a statement on how college basketball is now a days….players are going to leave every year. I also don’t get all the love for Coleman…..not just from you but from a lot of fans

After the first 3 games of the season there were some are we going to lose Hawkins to the draft posts. That was fun.

I'm not saying Coleman is irreplaceable at all. However, he is a very good athlete, that provides a lot of versatility and is a very good defender. In terms of returning players, we only have RJ as the possible star, Goode as a glue type guy, and Hawk as the vet that still has a lot of promise to his game. He has a lot of untapped potential, but mainly, it is nice to have a guy or 2 returning from your team to carry out an identity. He is a good passer, has promise as a shooter, very energetic, and plays very versatile d that slowed some players down last year. All I am saying is if we can build around RJ and Hawkins as 2 starters (along with Clark too) and fill out rest of roster and Dainja off bench, you have a couple of studs spots to fill while having some roster continuity and at least a talented glue guy. Now saying this, if we end up with something like Nance, Dainja, Whitmore, RJ, and Clark, I am definitely not complaining what so ever, but if can bring Dainja off bench, why not? I would think Dainja would be much more ameniable to that than bringing Cole Hawk off bench.

RJ, Cam and Ty...a guy can dream, right?
That would be great but we need some experience to lead and be able to shoot it. As it stands now we only have 6 guys that put on a Illini jersey in a game, one of which is Lieb. Dain has played basically 6 games in two years. BU always talks about being long, athletic and talented but he also likes being have some "old' leadership. I hope we find that in a PG.

The only insider I trust is ProfessorQC. Until we get info from him I take everything with a grain of salt
That grain of salt works best with a whole group of grains on the rim of a nice cold glass with an appropriate beverage. Or as Pru would say perhaps a gummie or two.

I'm getting a little tired of so many people casually dunking on Lieb.

I think he has improved his shooting over the past year. He hit a couple of 3’s in the Nike Hoop Summit. However he was brutal shooting the ball in the EYBL last summer (8-34 from 3 I believe and ~ 45% from the line). EYBL sample was only like 12 games but the free throw percentage may be concerning. If he wants to come however he would be an obvious take.

telling kids to stay no doubt
Oh I mean, duh. That’s probably a given. Wouldn’t you if you were a retiring coach?

Doesn’t mean kids will stay though. They came to play for Jay-Wright coached Villanova. Part of that is no longer the case… soooo some should be free to decommit if they so choose.
