Well if you asked me who our biggest rival is I would say Mizzou.I just want to say how funny I think it is for Michigan fans to freak out about random national personalities calling us their “rival,” as if it’s some narrative we desperately push.
1) Most Illini fans would name IU, Missouri and Iowa well ahead of Michigan.
2) Getting annoyed that those pansies cheated us out of a Big Ten title and that Hunter Dickheadson seems to be obsessed with talking about us is not some proclamation of a rivalry … it’s just responding to things relevant to us.
3) I absolutely do not accept some universe in which Michigan Basketball is superior enough to provide Illinois Basketball with ANY extra credibility by having an association with them.
Delusional losers.
But if you asked me which team I hate the most....

Hoping you and your dad can enjoy that NC together. My dad, a lifelong Cubbie fan, passed away the summer of 2016. Enjoy every one of those moments you get.
I so wanted to win a NC before my dad passed. I still remember calling him after the AZ comeback. Really thought it would come to fruition that year. Sigh.
He passed in 2010, never getting to see one.

It would be fun to see Adam Miller go to TCU. They should be pretty good next year, maybe even top 10-15 team. It would be easy to root for him there, and maybe they can push Kansas for a title... maybe.
Yeah I'm cool with a backup option. I just don't want to bring in someone who's promised a starting spot, I guess. Someone who's cool with competing for one, sure thing.

Had a dream my dad passed yesterday, felt way too real. My wife's uncle died completely unexpectedly two weeks ago. My dad is the one who got me into Illini basketball in the first place and now he always asks me for the recruiting updates. I'll definitely give him a call.

Good lord, people talk about athletes being entitled but now we have Dickinson and Howard's kid believing that schools be PAYING AND HOLDING SCHOLARSHIPS so that a kid can go play for another team next season? What? If TSJ remained on athletic scholarship at Texas Tech through the summer, they wouldn't be able to use all 13 scholarships to have a player enroll over the summer (when incoming freshmen and transfers typically enroll). Imagine telling one of your recruits "sorry you gotta wait until Fall and can't enroll with the rest of your class so we can help a guy graduate to go go play for a different team"
