Oh, I was there…First time in 11 years. But it feels more like the first time in 111 years. That was a Ron Zook team in case any of you out there weren’t born yet.

Do you actually think BB is going to talk smack on his players? Good coaches won't do that. We can win some games with Art. Consistency is the key and with Art in the game he has not proven that so far in his college career. There are a lot of comments being made about Art that don’t sync very well what we’ve heard from Bret. I think I’m going to go with the coach who has this team at 5-1 with one shoulda won rather than with those who likely had Illinois at four wins on the season.
Hmmmm, I’m not going to talk smack either.Do you actually think BB is going to talk smack on his players? Good coaches won't do that. We can win some games with Art. Consistency is the key and with Art in the game he has not proven that so far in his college career.
Neither do I......Hmmmm, I’m not going to talk smack either.
We don't see Devito until Nebraska I think. We get McCray back tho, maybe go a little heavy on the o-line, ball control, run run run and a little play action to the TE's to mix things up. In staff we trust. Could be another Colts vs Broncos redux in Memorial Stadium this weekend.let’s just hope Tommy’s ankle can be fixed in less than a week .
Is Tommy better than Art. Yes. Is the O-line better this year than last? Could be.Neither do I......
I love all the players on the team. I will say I don't have he most confidence in Art. That isn't talking smack.
Art helped win the Nebraska game last season and manage the Iowa game this season. I hope the best for Art and the program, same time his track record isn't the best.
I have two random questions in the back of my head if Art starts for us.
How many games has he won for Illinois as a starter? 0 wins (He didn't win the Penn St game) Teams that have had time to plan for him starting have done well against us.
Will he turn the ball over? Has 6 TDs and 5 Turnovers as QB here at Illinois. Had all 6 of his TDs in 1st 3 games in 2021 and has been 13+ months since he has had a TD.
I try to bring about facts with some of my rationale. I will say Illinois has a great running game and defense. I think we can win some games with Art and can buck some of those trends. Best case scenario is we don't have to rely on seeing to much Art this year.
Find me a fanbase who's team and QB are the best they've seen in 10+ years who wouldn't be freaked out from inserting the back-up QB. No matter how good or bad the back-up is.Is Tommy better than Art. Yes. Is the O-line better this year than last? Could be.
My point was, if you read back through the comments, some of them are absolutely brutal, and that’s uncalled for. You have to wonder about some peoples’ personal lives.
Not so fast on the Utah one yetLooks like we will jump Utah, NC State, Mississippi St and Kansas......and maybe Texas.
GUESS: Illini #20

And perhaps a shout out (do the kids still say that?) to Barrett Sallee who predicted Illinois to finish second? He still picked WI first but at least he had Illinois up there and not at the bottom like all the others.https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...s-projected-order-of-finish-bold-predictions/. I think we need to let our buddy Illini hater Jerry Palm and David Cobb how wrong they are
That should be real close. The advantage the Illini have is teams in the Big 12, ACC and PAC 12 start playing against each other (ranked teams) starting next week like TCU vs Ok St. Penn State still has to play OSU so the bye will allow us to move inside the top 20 line going into the Neb game.I'll take a shot in advance of 2pm:
1. UGA
2. Ohio St
3. Tennessee
4. Clemson
5. Michigan
6. Alabama
7. Ole Miss
8. TCU
9. UCLA
10.Oklahoma St
11.Oregon
12.Syracuse
13.Kansas St.
14.Penn State
15.Wake Forest
16.Utah
17.USC
18.Cincy
19.Kentucky
20.Texas
21.ILLINI
Stanford (1-4 before ND game) 16 - ND 14 at Notre Dame. Their first FBS win in yearI know this
we have an excellent shot at finishing above ND at the end of the season
how many bad losses at home does Freeman get ?
I like me some RJ! Fan of the Big 10. Mega-fan of the ILLINI!After yesterday, this guy has us at 19

I think 18 is the ceiling this week, but definitely possible. #20 just 'feels' right (whatever that means, )I feel like the win vs Iowa would have put us up higher than 24th if Tommy didn't get hurt and we put up some points. I could see next ranking correcting that. My optimistic guess is 18th.
