2022 FIFA World Cup Thread

Qatar just banned beer sales at World Cup stadiums, 2 days before the tournament starts. Beer is now only allowed in hotels and at an offsite Fan Experience tent. I'm guessing that all of the bribes that the FIFA officials took taste even sweeter today.

World Cup starts tomorrow.

Time for those predictions. Who comes out of each group and who ends up winning it all?
I think Argentina v Brazil in final. Denmark could be sneaky as well as Croatia. Germany is my second team due to ancestry, don't think the defense us where is has been and how will the score.

Obviously rooting for the USA, I'm a little nervous getting out if group. We have history on our side in the cup vs England, but Iran is really good.

Would be cool to see Argentina vs Portugal in the final

I'll predict Argentina beats England in the final. I would love to see Messi win a World Cup, and this is surely his last chance.

I also think Mexico and the US will make it through to the knockouts. Don't think Canada will, Croatia and Belgium are too tough.

I never understood how Qtar was awarded the 2022 WC games. It seemed so incredibly wrong. Bribery was my only answer.

Not much talk of France from our loyalty prognosticators. They are down 3 guys I believe. How do the defending Champs look.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, Fox will be streaming all matches in 4K HDR via the Fox Sports app.

Quite a few of the matches will be on FS1, especially the ones that are starting earlier in the morning here in the states.
Yeah but this is the opening match. Fox played a lot for the rights to the world’s biggest sporting event. The match kickoffs off at 10 so it will be done by 11:45. No impact on the 12 noon kickoffs.

True but to be fair, this match wasn't even supposed to be played today. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow but got moved to today since the opening ceremony wouldn't have been the focus. And let's be real, there would have been plenty of NFL fans complaining if they couldn't watch the pregame shows on FOX. While they did air the opening match on Fox back in 2018, that match was played on late Thursday morning here in the states.
