So…The voters started the season with a low opinion of the BIG 10. Now MSU has rattled off 2 big wins and a close loss at Gonzaga, Illini have taken down UCLA, other BIG teams have taken down Seton Hall, Xavier, and Marquette. Are we going to start getting some respect? I think so…

What if I told you Rodgers will have the longest NBA career of our frosh?
Did your Magic 8 Ball tell you that?

Once we develop some chemistry in the half-court offense, this team will be a TON. I was excited about what I thought this team could become. After going 1-1 in Vegas, I'm excited about what this team is. What I now think it could become was beyond my expectation. These guys are just starting to learn to play together, and they went toe to toe with two veteran laden teams. A couple bounces here and there and they could have easily been 2-0 in Vegas.
BU was right. We re-loaded.

Probably not as much as the conference deserves. The voters are pretty bad at figuring out what to do with super deep conferences that beat up on each other all year. There are 11 legit tourney-caliber teams in the B1G this year even with Michigan dropping a hot carl every time they step on the court. Even Northwestern has some decent and experienced talent and shouldn’t be an easy out this year.

A team like Rutgers would be a mortal lock for March if they were in the ACC because they’d feast on the bottom half of the league. But someone (or a few someones) will get a raw deal because they go like 8-12 against an absolute gauntlet of a schedule this year.

It's not even December yet, way too early to be saying that. It's definitely possible, but still a lot of unproven teams up to this point.

The conference lost a ton of talent and production, only had 1 5 star coming in, and didn't really make big splashes in the transfer portal (other than us). The talk about the conference being down this year was fair IMO.

Wasn’t super clear on that — not saying that if the season ended today there would be 11 teams who deserve to get in, but I could see anyone besides NU, NE and Minny going if things break right. We’ll know more as we move forward but I do feel like that’s where we’re at, YMMV.

i predict this team will look different at the end of the season vs now :)

i get it, it's a message board with crazy fans and this is what we do but this team has played 5 games with an entirely new roster, new starting 5, already have 1 win against a top 10 team and played well with another now top 10 team for most of that game (both of which are highly experienced teams)

oh, and we completely changed the style of play so that anyone on the team previously is essentially learning right along side their new teammates, 4 of whom are freshman who have all already played significant minutes in significant roles.

so excited for this season and think we should have few, if any, qualms or concerns about anyone at this point.
we're still in 'playing with house money' land; if issues persist in early January then i'll bring out the criticisms

Rewatched some of the Vegas games. I hope RJ and Mayer can pick it up defensively. RJ seems to be getting beat off the dribble a fair bit as is Mayer, who I also think gambles more than I’d like. With their length and athleticism I think they could and should be two of our stronger defenders. Will see if they can figure it out.
